I just received a letter today saying, "You are guaranteed an offer of appointment if your remaining admission requirements are satisfactorily met"
The last requirement being a medical waiver. This is such great news for me considering I was denied an NROTC scholarship a few days ago. Does anybody know how long the waiver process is? On my DODMERB portal it still say "Pending waiver submission/review" and its been that way for several weeks.

Congrats!!! That's great news. Good luck with the waiver. (What district are you from?)

My DS just got the same letter! I wish you the best of luck and hope you two are classmates very soon. Keep up the great work!

Conditional Appointment -- Waiver

My DS had to wait on the waiver process. He was DQ by Dodmerb after receiving a LOA from USNA. It took a few weeks and one day he called me and told me his status was changed on Dodmerb. I called the USNA to make sure and it was confirmed. The blue folder arrived a couple of weeks after! Since that time he as been denied waivers from the USCGA but granted waivers from USMA! Go figure! It looks like he is gonna be a resident of Annapolis! I am not sure anyone can give you a timeline. Just relax and pray!

Time Frame for Waiver

Each person's time frame will differ, but for what it's worth, our DS received medical DQ for USNA on September 20, 2012. The medical waiver was received 2 months later on Nov. 30, 2012. DS needed additional medical records and testing, so the wait time for waiver can depend on how long it takes to get results from additional testing. His LOA was dated Oct. 17, 2012 and BFE from USNA dated Dec. 11, 2012.

Hang in there! Make sure to keep records of all correspondence/phone calls with DoDMERB re: waiver and respond quickly if they request information. Wishing you the best of luck!

Congrats All!

Awesome place; awesome education; awesome service; awesome accomplishment!

Did your DODMERB status change online before you received that letter?

Yes, Current Medical Status on DoDMERB changed from "Pending Waiver Submission/Review" to " Medical Waiver Granted" and then a few days later the official letter came from Office of Admissions USNA informing of the waiver for medical standards. The medical status on the DoDMERB site did change, prior to the letter arriving.

Here's hoping you get the same change of status on your DoDMERB page!

Anyone willing to share DODMERB DQ reasons??

Would anyone be willing to share their reason for being DQ from DODMERB and put into the waiver process??

My DS was DQ'ed and successfully waivered for history of bee allergies and history of asthma after age 13.

Last year DS was DQ due to his height/weight ratio. He was a LB and defensive lineman on the HS football team. He was all muscle, to the level that he had a hard time floating on his back in a pool, kept sinking... anyway, after DODMERB DQd him he had to have a body fat determination done before they would grant the waiver. It was waived and he is now a plebe at USNA.

Hello, congrats on your conditional appointment!
I am in new jerseys 2nd district and I am awaiting a medical waiver for a childhood history of asthma. I have been trying to be very open-minded, but it has been very tough. May I ask if your waiver was regarding asthma as well as your sats? I am just trying to get an idea of where I stand at this point. Thank you!

I was DQ'ed due to a past hip surgery. USNA waived me after requestiong a bit of info that showed that it is a nonfactor in my current performance.
