Hey everyone.
I'm an applicant with two noms, triple qualified, and all that jazz - and like many of you, I'm still waiting.
I know at this time of year everyone is super anxious about their admissions decisions, myself included. But I just wanted to post on here to encourage candidates to just relax. I know it seems like an impossible task right now, because I know checking my mailbox and hoping everyday is all I think about. But for many - this is our senior year and we are supposed to be enjoying it! Worrying and freaking out about whether not there is going to be a BFE or TWE in your mailbox isn't going to help admissions made a decision or help the mailman deliver it any faster - so why worry. Its enough to make you CRAZY.
The bottom line is this. Most applicants that apply to a service academy are different than their peers in the fact that they want to serve their country. I'd venture to say that most, if not all, candidates are outstanding people with diverse backgrounds and talents. If you don't get in this year, then you can reapply, or maybe it wasn't meant to be in the end and you'll find something that you are equally as motivated to do in your life. I personally believe that each candidate will be successful in whatever they choose to do, whether attending a service academy is in that plan or not. So keep up the intensity and finish senior year strong, and enjoy your friends and family.
Good luck to everyone, and congratulations to those already appointed. You're in for quite a journey.
