USMAPS Appointments

I had seen some earlier estimates (on other threads) of approximately 200 USMAPS candidates receiving an appointment to the USMA Class of 2017. Would those numbers include the 40 to 60 civil prep candidates?

I believe it was also noted USMAP candidates would start being notified in May. Has anyone from USMAPS or Civil Prep heard anything at this point?

Thanks

Sponsored Civil Prep here:

Nearly all of us at MMI received our appointments on the 25th. We're in contact with the other civil prep schools as well and the same goes for them.

That's awesome congrats! How many USMA preps were at MMI?

to clarify

Around 200 at USMA prep does not include "sponsored civil prep."

Another clarification is that all prepsters are not "sponsored."

If you are a sponsored prep candidate, you are pretty much guranteed an appointment, unless they disqualify themselves.

How about non-sponsored students at MMI?

Do you think, given all thats going on with reductions, etc., the 200+ offers to USMAPS candidates will hold up? Thanks

On the flip side, being unsponsored does not guarantee anything.
I had a candidate a couple of years ago who was unsponsored at MMI.
Did well there but did not receive an appointment.

I don't see that the budget concerns have anything to do with the number of USMAPS admitted.
USMAPS prepsters will be admitted to West Point if they do well while at USMAPS.
But - the definition of 'do well' has been on a sliding scale the past couple of years.

Thanks.

Just curious, how big is your class and on your estimation how many your class is at MMI that are non-sponsored are there to get into a SA.

Not entirely sure, but here's the stats from last year.
