You have a shot. With the exception of more AP courses and a slightly lower PFT score your stats are similar to my son's and he did not get a high school scholarship. If you make it then it's due to the APs putting you over the top, IMO. Have backup plans in place and ready to execute. Consider NROTC MO without the scholarship in your backup plans if at all possible. As you can tell from my tag line, with hard work, that route can lead to a in-school scholarship... if they aren't hit by the sequester.

Gmarcos: I am going to refrain from suggesting your "chances."

I would like to suggest you consider alternate options towards a commission. Everyone should. There are in-college scholarships, PLC and other options.

But if you hope to become a Marine Officer, I highly encourage you to work on your physical fitness. You scored a 227 out of 300 which is a first class score (minimum first class score is 225). But 10 pull ups and 90 crunches is going to become a problem going forward. You will need the upper body and core strength as you get into ROTC and USMC training.

Best of luck!

+1 to USMCGrunt. Try to get the pullups to 20 and the run below 20 (at least). If you do get accepted into the program or decide to pursue it as a college programmer you want to knock that first PFT out of the park. Especially if you are awarded a scholarship, so that you can complete the contract on day 1.

Thanks for your input!

Those were the scores i submitted three weeks ago, and I have thankfully progressed to 15 Pull ups and 18:00 for a three mile. Hopefully it all works out.

Physically, I would say you have the makings of a damned fine Marine. If you can keep that 18:00 run and get up to 20 pullups you ought to be able to consistently score 294+ if not 300s on the PFT in college. This is a big deal with the Marines. Ignoring the sequester, as I have no idea how it will impact scholarships, if you can do that consistently, maintain a 3.5-3.6 GPA in college, and demonstrate some leadership ability, you have a good chance at an in-school (sideload) scholarship... if you end up going in as a college programmer. Those scores, and your current SAT scores, would match my son's score when he earned his scholarship.

Thanks for all the input kinnem. Hope your son is doing great!

And thanks TheCadet. I used to run alot of Cross country and played lots of water polo. I should have gotten the score I currently have right now, but I was sadly out of shape when I took the PFT thanks to finals driving me crazy. Hope it doesn't hold me back now.
