Fax first!

Dodmerb is requesting a remedial for DS. Is it better to fax or mail the records? Thanks!

We faxed our recorls and then sent a copy in the mail. ( Always save a copy for your records.) They were updated very quickly after the fax was received!

What is the FAX number?

thanks in advance.

From the DoDMERB website https://dodmerb.tricare.osd.mil/FAQs.aspx#num10q

--------------------------------------------------------

You may fax documents pertaining to your medical status to DoDMERB.

We do ask however, if the total number of pages exceeds 15, that you mail those instead of faxing. DoDMERB has limited ability to receive faxes and faxes exceeding 15 pages could delay our ability to process your documents as quickly as possible.

Please note: If you fax documentation to DoDMERB, you DO NOT need to mail the same document(s). Our fax number is: 719-333-3578. Our mailing address is: DoDMERB, 8034 Edgerton Drive, Suite 132, United States Air Force Academy, CO 80840-2200. DoDMERB has the capability to receive all types of mail deliveries, (i.e., US Postal Service, FedEx, UPS, etc.).

We did both. Had no way to verify FAX receipt and this is too important to trust with 70's technology. :thumb:

Thanks Dad. That sounds wierd.

Great news!

Just logged onto DodMerb site to see what the codes were regarding DS remedial rquest and his status has been changed to Qualified as of today's date. I am a little reluctant to get too overjoyed, but I feel like it is probably a done deal at this point. What experiences have others had? They don't typically change it back once they've deemed an applicant qualified, do they? Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

@MullenLE

Mr. Mullen, seeing this discussion and current circumstances, can documents be scanned and emailed?

Even if they don’t have a scanner or multi-function printer at home, there are free smartphone apps such as Genius Scan that will scan using camera, crop the photo with clean lines, and provide a mailable pdf file.

Apple phone allows scanning through their Notes app... when in the notes app, hit the camera icon and it will ask if you want to scan or take a picture... scan - then you can email or text the document to where ever...

I can't believe we're still using fax machines. Anyone remember the Quip from the 80's? The drum spun around like Edison's 1st records.1584563180736.png

Documents can be emailed as .pdf attachments, NOT jpegs or other methods.

Documents can be faxed. For Wishful's purposes, fax is a more secure way
