Does anyone have any insight into the last board? At first I was told the results would be out by the end of March, and now I'm told the end of April. My DD is on pins and needles waiting for the results.

Any tricks to finding out early? Any info on how this process unfolds and why it takes so long?

Thank you!

Who told you that results may not be out until the end of April?

Sorry, there are no tricks to finding out early, if there were I'm sure someone here would have found out how a long time ago.

There are just a small number of people that process all this scholarship information and there are thousands of applications to process. The looming furloughs could come into play as well because those that process the scholarships are civilian government employees.

Being the final board they will have to go through all the awards that may have been declined, they will also need to figure out the allocation of scholarships to the individual schools based on availability.

It's really unknown whether the budget cuts are having an effect on the awards as well.

I would still start checking the status page towards the very end on March and beginning of April. Other then that just try and be patient, I completely understand how hard that can be. If your daughter does receive a scholarship, and even if she doesn't but still does ROTC, this will be only the beginning of the "Hurry up and wait" syndrome.

I spoke with someone in the Cadet Command office last week and was told the time frame for results coming out would be late March through the middle of May.

That's frustrating. You would think they'd be able to do this quicker and notify candidates as soon as the selections are made. I believe this is the case with the Navy boards that immediately post each selection.

The thing about the NROTC Boards is that the Navy does not release the dates of the boards, they hold that very close to the vest. Nobody really knows how long it takes NROTC to release the results because nobody knows the actual dates of the boards.

Realize that the AROTC board is not done in just one day, it can take a week or so for them to review all the applicants, it has only been 8 working days since the board started on March 11th. This being the last board will have the largest amount of cadets to review and process. With AROTC nothing is official until the letter is sent by Cadet Command, it takes time to process all the applicants, make the scholarship allocations for each school and process all the final letters to be sent, once this is done they will make the status updates. The Army has a much larger number of cadets to process then the Navy does.

Be thankful you were not waiting for the January 2011 board, it took nearly 3 months for the results to come out for that board, things have actually gotten quicker.

I doubt anything would really extend into May. They know these kids are up against May 1 acceptance deadlines with their colleges. I would not be surprised to see it extend somewhat past mid-April. That still leaves plenty of time to pull the trigger on plan B if needed.

[Mirroring response in another thread] I hope you're right, because that would be my concern - but reason I was given was they have an unusually high volume of applications and limited staff. Maybe this will prove to be a case of under promise and over deliver...

I suppose they may perhaps be thinking that if a scholarship offer goes out after May 1 they can pull some strings to get them into the awarded school... but that's all just wishful thinking on my part.

Results are being posted right now.

If you do not see a change. Check back later. They have only posted about 2% of the results so far.

Another thought/memory about the March board from last year. IIRC, they had a rolling kind of board then and it seemed that many of the offers had less than 30 days to reply. These may have been "later" offers on that board - ones that had been turned down by earlier offers on that board. That might explain the offers going into May...

Glad to hear that they are putting results up though. :thumb:

Let the constant checking begin:zip:

Are ALL of the results posted? Or are others still being posted? New to all of this and I have no idea how this all works. Thanks for any help!

So it's unsure if these budget cuts have an effect on the board?

In my ROTC portal it says they have received everything except for my medical. A few months ago, I contacted Cadet Command about how I could schedule one and they told me that they'll do it for me after I have been awarded a scholarship. I'm just sort of triple checking whether this is true or not so I don't feel totally 'bamboozalled'.

Thank you!

Don't fret over this - this is very common on many applicants' portals (myself included).

CC is correct; you do not need to worry about this until you are awarded a scholarship. And when that time arrives, you should receive a packet in the mail entailing instructions for completing your DoDMERB physical.

They need to upload all the results before they will start to show up on the status pages.

I doubt anyone has seen a change in status yet.

So Marist, are we expecting to see 50% by the end of today (Monday, 25 March)?

Has anyone on this forum received a notice (good/bad) on the status webpage based on the March 2013 results yet?

All updates that I have seen were made on 22 or 23 MAR.

There are also several applicants that still only have pending scholarship offers (alternate list) that do not yet have a date and control number attached. All of these are 3yr AD Scholarships. They will be awarded on a rolling basis as offers are declined.

Confused...

I haven't heard either way yet. Does this mean that I am not receiving one if I haven't heard back yet? Have they all been given out?

The current updates are most likely updates to the main system, these updates probably have not been moved to the applicants status pages yet. As soon as applicants status pages start to be updated you will see a lot of people posting their updates on this board.

This happened last board, updates went to CCIMS first then out to the applicants status pages.

Be patient, status page updates will be coming soon I'm sure.

Well, back on here waiting to see the boards light up again. DS did not earn a scholarship from the last board and we are awaiting the results of this one.

Quick Question: If DS was not awarded a National Scholarship, will his status change to reflect that he did not receive one or will it remain the same until all the alternates have been notified, perhaps going all the way into May?

Plan B has already been put into place. Deposit made on #1 choice school and getting ready to register for orientation. DS has been in contact with ROO at his #1 school and plans to participate in their program. Getting a scholarship would only be the icing on the cake!
