AIM Application deadline confusion

The USCGA website says that AIM application deadline is April 15. I submitted the application today and received a confirmation email stating that the letter of recommendation is due Monday, April 1st. Can this be a mistake? I am concerned because although I sent the request for the recommendation last week, my school is currently closed through April 1st for the Easter holiday and I can not contact my counselor until school reopens on April 2nd. Any info that is available on this issue will be greatly appreciated.

April 15th deadline for both...I'm sure the AIM Program coordinator will fix/update the confirmation e-mail message on Monday.

AIM deadline

My daughter is in a predicament, she just sent this e-mail to her admissions officer:

I have completed, but not submitted my AIM application. The reason I have not submitted it is because I thought that I had through today (April 15) to have everything in, including the recommendations. My guidance counselor has not yet completed my recommendation and I did not want to push submit until he had sent the recommendation in.

I do want to apply to AIM and had every intention of submitting it today once I knew that the guidance counselor had finished. The AIM page says that the deadline is the 15th http://www.cga.edu/admissions2.aspx?id=89 and it was not clear (to me) that the deadline was actually the end of the day on the 14th.

She understands that she should have had it in sooner and that sometimes you are at the mercy of of other people who may not feel the same sense of urgency that you do...or who may have the power (through their inaction) to prevent you from even applying. However, she is asking for clarification as to when the web page says that the deadline is April 15, it is actually the end of the day April 14.

She has made her appeal, do you think she has any chance, or is she in the "tough lesson learned" category?

Relax, the deadline is today, April 15th.

If it is submitted today, no worries.

Thanks for the confidence, unfortunately, when she (we) checked at 06:30 this morning to see if the counselor had submitted his recommendation, it said that the deadline had passed and the submit button was gone.

She is working on a solution now and it looks like you are probably right, it will be submitted. Unfortunately it is now all up to one guidance counselor (aka football coach) who is currently out picking up football equipment and (my daughter is being told) will not be in at all today. The request for the recommendation was sent quite some time ago. Frustrating.

BTW, our DS just accepted an appointment to WP and DD sees this as her first step on her journey.

Thanks for the response.

There were some intermittent technical problems over the weekend, and again this morning, but the application was back online around 1200 EDT and the deadline has been extended until Thursday, April 18th. All applicants should be receiving an e-mail message today with additional information about the outage and deadline extension.

I believe they're still planning on releasing a message to all applicants, but that extended deadline is until 0900 EDT on Thursday, April 18th.
