I am scheduled for a cadet escorted tour of the Academy on April 15th. I am also scheduled to talk to an admissions counselor. Any advice beforehand?

It would also be helpful to know that I am currently a Junior in high school who is applying for the Class of 2018

Kind of an open ended question. It really depends on what you are looking to for, if you are not from the area you really should spend some time looking around the Colorado Springs Area, it is really quite striking.

As with any school visit, try and get a feel for the campus. What do you think of the environment? If you get a chance, visit the classrooms and listen in on a class. Key to success at any school is that it should fit your needs, and that you are a match for the culture. There are many ways to get a commission, the academy is but one source.

Good luck!

Bring your cadet treats!

We are also heading there. My DS's visit was rescheduled for the 15th. Did you get a confirmation email where it says bring your transcript and resume? As I told my DS, be ready with questions for the counselor, it's not their job to drag conversation out of you. Use this as an incredible opportunity to get information "straight from the source." Good luck, have fun!

Try to go to a sporting event and talk to cadet spectators.
You tend to get more info from multiple cadets than a single cadet -- friends will chime in on a comment or question and thus you will get different perspectives.

Remember C4C's are now recognized, so life is much different for them than it was a month ago

Thanks for the advice! What are C4C's?

I did not get an email telling me to bring my transcript and resume, but I will definitely bring mine now just in case! Thanks :thumb:
