So it's looking like ucla will be our daughter's college choice. Is there anyone here that can give her some insights into ucla afrotc? Stuff like housing, the rotc program, tips, etc would be great.

Please feel free to PM me too. Thanks.

I'm sitting down with the Cadre to discuss some of the specifics of the program next week. Ill be sure to post how it went. Unfortunately it's going to have to be quite appealing as ill be attending UCSB this fall. Otherwise ill probably be sticking with army.

I'm back with some info.
The entire detatchment is about 100 cadets coming from 20 different schools.
This year 15 people will commission so the attrition rate for each class can be figured about 60%
Fortunately he said that is from the majority of people dropping on their own accord, not from Field Training.
He did not have a mini board for Field Training but did bring up commanders ranking and the procedure for that.
He said the average CGPA was around a 3.0 for those selected for Field Training.
The schedule for a Cross town is PT and lab on Friday from 6-12. For on campus cadets throw in an extra PT session.

Hopefully that answers some questions

Thanks for providing this info.

Well, I hang out (surfing, bars, dinner etc.) with the UCLA AFROTC det commandant (head of training). Does that count as having knowledge? I could probably ask him any questions within reason from here.

I should say that I'm pseudo attached to the UCLA AFROTC det as a second-order chain of command.
