Quick question....Is there a requirement for wisdom teeth removal/healing prior to IDay? DD earned an appointment but no paperwork has yet arrived. She also earned an appointment to USAFA and was told that she SHOULD have them out. Clock's ticking so any insights would be appreciated prior to DD calling USNA on Monday. Many thanks.

No need unless your orthodontist says they need to be removed immediately.

At USNA, they typically wait until firstie year to have them removed, unless, of course, they become a problem before then. At least, that's what the dentist told me last week.:thumb:

No.......... it is NOT a requirement for USNA admission to have healthy wisdom teeth removed (this comes up every year). IF your dentist already recommends they be removed and/or they are currently causing issues, it is SUGGESTED that a better time to have that done is prior to I-day and then you have time for recovery at home.
