There are so many forms (both online and paper) to be filled out before BCT that I wanted to start a thread on it to help others and myself prepare, fill and NOT MISS anything before the start of BCT. Please add to the list as needed. Thanks.

1) Accept or Reject Appointment (online)
2) Vaccination Record (paper - to be emailed or faxed back to USAFA)
3) Uniform Sizing Measurements (paper)
4) Security Clearance (about 135 pages long so get started on it ASAP)
5) Foreign Language Placement Test (online)

Question

When/how did you recieve the security clearance packet? Was it in the second BFE or online? I recieved my appointment February 19th and got everything else you mentioned, just wondering about the security clearance! Thanks!

1) Accept or Reject Appointment (online)
Probably the only important thing you actually have to do
2) Vaccination Record (paper - to be emailed or faxed back to USAFA)
They will probably just give you all of the test over again on the first day of basic, that's what they did to us
3) Uniform Sizing Measurements (paper)
You will be fitted again once you get here regardless of this paperwork or not
4) Security Clearance (about 135 pages long so get started on it ASAP)
This doesn't have to get done, it is only for your convince since you will take an afternoon to fill it out electronically during 1st beast, if you don't have it then it makes the process more stressful, if you do have it filled out then it just makes entering the data online go faster
5) Foreign Language Placement Test (online)
Just one of those things that you have to get out of the way but they will ask you for your language preference once you get here.
6.)Don't buy boots!!!! USAFA will make you buy new ones anyways, regardless of how many pairs you bring with you, some squads won't even let you wear your own boots (lightweight ones) until after recognition anyways
7.)Sit down lots, don't worry about much, and just enjoy being you and being free... Basic sucks and IMAO there is not only so much training you can do to make it less sucky so just enjoy being you, and being with your family.
8.)Don't fail out of school... This would be bad, however you can let off the throttle quite a bit if you want. USAFA won't look twice unless you start pulling D's and F's
9.)Sit down some more... sitting is good

security clearance comes in a link from an email sent from USAFA. it's not going to show up on your portal. i know it doesn't have to be done right now but good luck trying to remember when you went to mexico or france for vacation, who your friend was from 7 years ago that will be a contract person or where you lived before you moved 4 times. like daniel says, it will make life a lot less stressful if you have the information available already. i wouldnt want to add anymore stress to bct. lol.

Oh geez haha. I'll try and look for that email. Do you happen to remember when you might have gotten it?

this post was perfect haha but unfortunately there's no letting off the throttle when it comes to grades because i'm just paranoid that if i did let em go down a little that i would risk my appointment  maybe i just have terrible luck but i'm still going for at least a 4.0 and as of now it looks like i should be fine. only 6 weeks till i graduate and finish high school!

tomorrow and the day after i will take the day to do all of my paperwork so thanks for this again guys. i also would like to know when others go the security clearance email

the security clearance letter comes in the mail. received it end of february.

correction to the original post - it wasn't an email but snail mail (USPS). the lines between all these forms/letters/emails start to blur after a while - confused me there for a while. LOL.

We get it that you got appointment to more than 1 SA.
Since you've made a choice I assume, maybe not a good idea to keep referring to an appointment you're not accepting and show up on I-day with a Go Navy shirt.:thumb:

Was this referring to the quesiton or my signature block? Because my question was genuine and I have accepted my USAFA appointment. I hadn't thought about the signature block though, so thanks for pointing it out! :thumb:

Wait I'm confused on how they're bragging about multiple appointments anywhere in their post...

The second BFE refers to the packet that comes in the mail after a candidate (now an appointee) accepts their appointment. This packet contains forms and informative materials for the candidate.

Was under their screen name. He's omitted it already.
It's been done in the past where a basic demands extra attention from cadre by donning a rival SA shirt on I-day.

Thanks for the heads up. It was definitely not my intention to brag and I will not be looking for any "extra attention" from the cadre. Thanks again.

Adding to the list

7) Life Insurance Forms
8) AOG Membership (if you want to pay the least possible for it)
9) Armed Forces Bank account forms

BTW, did any of you get a confirmation upon sending your immunization record in? The email address doesn't seem to work.

Should I be concerned if I haven't yet received my security clearance stuff in the mail? I accepted my appointment in the middle of February...

You won't get it in the mail. Did you receive the 'Instructions to Appointees' packet?
If you read everything in it, some piece of paper (don't have it handy) gives you a link to the form.
If you didn't get that packet, I would probably call admissions and ask about it.

finally the list is on track again!

faxed the immunization to the number on the form, got receipt of fax right away, dont know about email.

got the security clearance letter in one of the official USAFA mailings, it will give you the link to the page online that you have to fill up, print and bring with you to BCT. sorry for the confusion - its NOT an actual 130+page package they send. you have to use your own paper LOL. but seriously there's a lot of info needed to fill them out so get started on them right away.

All I have received was the Offer of Appointment folder containing the tattoo form, the information about Armed Forces Bank, "The Academy Experience" booklet, and the congrats you got an appointment letter. Sounds like I should give USAFA a call?
