As I always say, give it 24-72 hours before they get it right. There's going to be a LOT of speculation right now.

Governor Patrick and the Boston Police Commissioner just came on and reported a third explosion over at the JFK Library and that another IED was found and disarmed. They did not provide any casualty numbers.

Just when we relax and start allowing knives on planes, now it's back packs!
Pray for the victims and their families. Hope that the authorities are able to catch the perpetrators and prevent this from happening elsewhere.

They're now saying that the incident at JFK library wasn't related and had to do with a fire. Injured is now up to 60-some.

Praying for all the victims and their families.

Oh, and I heard that everyone on the USMA and USNA team that went to the Marathon is accounted for and A-ok.

I grew up a quarter mile away from the Boston Marathon Route. One of the best days of my childhood was when my dad came home on Patriots Day and surprised us kids with tickets to the 111am Red Sox game. It may be hard for those not from Boston to understand what a joyous day Patriots Day has always been. How very, very sad this is.

It has been quite interesting to see the video of the minutes following the explosions, observing the emergency workers (including some in ACUs - Guardsmen I suspect) controlling what could have turned into even greater mayhem.

We definitely are getting better at handling these kinds of situations. Let's hope we don't get any more experience...

I think we got lucky in that I'm sure a lot of these folks, including what I also conclude were guardsmen, were already there because of the marathon for crowd control etc. I'm sure they prevented deaths of some of the injured and for sure helped prevent the additional bombs from going off.

First, let me say my thoughts and prayers go out all those killed and injured yesterday. Also, for the city of Boston and the greatest country in the world the United States of America. While, a lot of know and are aware of the fact that yesterday was Patriots Day. The day we celebrate the beginning to fight for the freedom, of this country. Some don't know or don't care. I believe there is a portion of people in this country (in my opinion some of the younger generation), who want to leave the fight up to others. I think, this is a mistake, because this portion of people are only concerned about themselves and what's in it for them. To those who have wore the uniform or wear the uniform and to those in the younger generation who are currently attending the SA'S and in the ROTC programs throughout this country. Thanks so much for your willingness and dedication and commitment to defending our freedom even to the point of dying for it.

God Bless and God Speed to you all.

VMI Pipeband Honoring the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing last night in Barracks immediately following Taps:

Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
'Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

When we've been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise
Than when we've first begun

Most people have no idea about Patriots Day unless you're from MA which is sad, even if it makes sense being a state holiday. I'm from right north of Boston so this hit home pretty hard. My thoughts and prayers are with the city I love and its people.
