Orthotics in shoes?

I asked this question a couple months ago, but didn't get all the information I was looking for.

Anyways, I wear arch supporters in my shoe. I got them about 2 and a half years ago, when my doctor noticed that I was walking with flat feet. They are custom fit. I have not had any knee pain or any kind of problems since I got them. Would I be able to get a waiver for this? Or does this mean I'll be DQ'd....?:confused: :confused:
 
That is a DoDMERB question, not a ROTC question. I suggest you ask that on the DoDMERB section.
 
I have the same thing, except that I only wore them for a year in 8th grade, haven't worn them since. From my understanding, it may very well be a DQ.

However, couldn't tell you anything about whether you could get a waiver or not.
 
My son has worn custom orthotics since the 8th grade, and still does. We disclosed this on his medical forms and it was never an issue. Your mileage may vary.
 
A waiver was not required. I should point out my son doesn't have flat feet. He suffered from Achilles apophysitis (Sever's Disease) during 8th and 9th grade. He still prefers to run with a light stability shoe, and wears his orthotics in his boots.
