Well folks, all good things must come to an end. My younger brother and I have received our QNS letters. Due to my age I am not eligible to reapply next year so this was my one and only hurrah before I was disquified for admission. As easy as it would be to be disappointed, the fact that my QNS means someone more qualified will fill that spot is all that matters. At the end of the day we are all here to serve the needs of the army in the capacity deemed necessary by the chain of command, and I trust their judgement since it has not failed us yet. I will gladly step down so that others who are more capable may lead. I have my backup plans already set in motion, and despite whichever plan I pursue, all roads lead to the army. Even though I did not get to take the path of my choice, the ultimate goal is service through an officer commission and that is all that matters.
Thank you to everyone here who has answered questions of mine, I appreciate all of your time and effort. To those who received QNS letters, continue to pursue excellence in all that you do, the army needs strong, capable leaders more than ever; it doesn't end here. To those appointed, fight hard at USMA and never give up, you were appointed for a reason. Do those of us who were rejected proud, and I hope to serve alongside you some day.
I wish everyone the best in all they do, and thank you again for providing such a supportive community. Godspeed.
