Since there was such confusion over the AIM Application deadline, does anyone know if there have been any changes in when the selections will be announced? I have heard "the first week in May", and I have heard "May 15th". Anyone have any insight on this? Will those selected be notified by mail or email?

I was wondering the same thing. I just really want to know really soon if I got in or not. But I'm fairly certain they'll notify us by e-mail.

I went last year and you will be notified through the account where you sent in your application. Just keep checking the status.

How can we tell if we're notified on our account? Just wondering since I don't see where the notification would be found. Thanks!

Just go to the account where you signed in to turn all the application components. You should receive a notification email telling you to check the status of your application, but that may be off by a week or so.

May 8

When we logged into the application screen, the message said that they would notify by May 8. Hope this helps!

I just got my acceptance (session 2), they sent an email saying that the decision is posted on the portal. Best of luck to everyone who has yet to hear!

AIM selection - waitlisted

My son applied to AIM 2013 and just received a letter stating he was selected to wait listed. Is this good? He wasn't rejected. What are his chances of getting in?

Just checked the portal. DS got accepted to Session 1! Very excited! Looks like three weeks of summer programs, NASS, AIM and NAVY Lacrosse Camp!

I was waitlisted too. I have a friend who was also waitlisted several years back, got in to the program, and went on to become a cadet at CGA. She graduates this year

I was waitlisted as well. I guess it's a nice way of being rejected. Now the email is not in my email box, but I didn't deleted. Did this happen to anyone's email disappeared?

It's really not a nice way of being rejected... it's saying there's a chance you can get in, depending on whether someone who got in can't make the program.

Waitlisted as well

My son got the email last night that he is on the waiting list. We were pretty happy with that as we know how hard it is to be selected. It was a very well written email, saying that they were impressed w/his record & that he is very qualified, so that was nice to hear. Even if he doesn't get to go, every little bit of encouragement is a good thing!

I am surprised to hear of so many getting wait list notices vs those that are posting as accepted. I can't help but think many of you on the wait list will be accepted at some point once people start responding to the emails. Best of luck to those of you waiting, and congrats to those accepted.

Wait listed

DS was wait listed as well. I wonder how many were... Letter said he would know by June 1... Hoping he gets in. I wonder if declines were sent out yesterday? Congrats to all accepted!

Accepted and Declining

DD got in but will be declining. She actually had sent an email rescinding her application a few weeks ago so was surprised to then get in. She is assuming the email never made it to the correct person!
However, she is going to NASS and USAFAss and needs the rest of the summer for a science research program and a volunteer commitment (and college visits and SAT prep!). Just can't fit it all in.

SO, I agree with others who say that many of you waitlisted may get in. Not everyone accepts will get in.

We hear that AIM is very hard, but very realistic and the best learning experience regarding rigor out of all of the SA summer programs. Hate for her to miss it.
