If anyone could help me out really quick, I would appreciate it. I am just curious if anyone has access to the statistics for the Class of 2015 as well as Class of 2016 regarding the:

1. Number of appointments offered
2. Number of appointments accepted
3. Number of appointees that entered Beast
4. Number of new cadets that were accepted at A-day

Thanks!

OK--I've been on this site for 5 years now, and I've held my tongue...but I just need to say this. There are so many posts asking for information that is SO EASILY obtained by a simple Google search. Most of these posts are from high school kids, who are supposed to be the "technology generation." If you all cannot perform simple computer searches, how on earth are you going to survive the rigors of West Point? I mean no offense, but c'mon...check the stickies and use Google before you ask questions that someone else will answer by 1) checking the sticky or 2) using Google.

Tons of questions about West Point can be answered by simply looking at the excellent stickies at the top of the West Point section of the forum. Buff81 has all kinds of helpful things listed there.

You easily could have found this information within two minutes of looking on google...plus this information has already been posted on this forum before.

I agree with the lamentation about posters not taking the initiative to find the obviously available information for themselves. That is why I checked the class profiles for both classes, sifted through 15 Google search pages, and 6 forum threads search pages before waving the white flag and asking outright. The links given in the responses so far so have minimal information about the offers rendered and "accepted" offers, but they do not give statistics for items 3 and 4 in my original question. Thank you for your help though. I was hoping by posting to the forum, the community of FFRs here could shed some light on the numbers.

And high five to Scout for the use of LMGTFY, I fell for it.

1. Number of appointments offered:
I don't think anyone will have that stat except those in Admissions at WP. But if you are trying to compare those 2 classes to stats for 2017, you really can't do that since they had a different model of offering appointments this year.

2. Number of appointments accepted: the stat as listed on the profiles

3. Number of appointees that entered Beast : on R-day, the Supe gives a briefing to the parents before the Oath Ceremony. In that brief for the 2013 parents, he gave the stat on how many reported. For 2013, the admitted class was 1304. 1299 reported for R-day with most of those not reporting being medical turnbacks. Although you didn't ask for 2013 stats, that is probably close to the % in subsequent classes on how many accepted and how many reported. A parent from those 2 classes may remember this stat for 2015 and 2016.

4. Number of new cadets that were accepted at A-day: A cadet from those 2 classes would probably know that answer and to question #3 also. Attrition over Beast has been declining over the past few years but I think it has been in the range of 50-100 per class. Frankly, this stat is unimportant. There are many reasons that NCs leave between R-day and A-day and there should be no judgement on those who do.

Thank you for saying that, buff81. Not everyone who leaves between R-Day and A-Day changed their mind or decided it was too hard---my cadet had a friend in his Beast company who left after suffering a sudden, devastating family loss back home.

I believe I read for 2016 less than 40 left...lowest in years. Of course, we all called it "beast lite." :thumb:

I think some of what you are looking for, at least for the class of 2016, might be in this document. Page 8 specifically. There are some historical table for prior years at the end. They show roughly an 80% graduation rate from admittance. What I haven't found anywhere is what portion of that is from Beast. (and I am very Google proficient)
