Class of 2017 parent asked me what the following acronyms meant, and I had to admit that I wasn't sure, even though I am the parent of a rising Firstie:confused: AOM, MOM, OOM, ATHPER. I'm pretty sure that the "OM" in the first three stand for "Order of Merit", but not sure at all about the first letters of each. No clue on the last one. Please advise.

Academic Order of Merit, Military Order of Merit, Overall Order of Merit? These are all stabs in the dark.

You are correct. OOM is a combination of both the AOM and MOM, though the AOM is weighted more. The OOM is important when applying for certain programs and for service selection come firstie year.
