Senior year dillema

I'm already thinking about senior year (I know, I know, at least start unior year before thinking about senior year, right?) and here's my dilemma:

Should I take journalism or not? I've taken it all during high school so far (and will be next year) and am planning on taking it for a full year senior year, because I love working for the newspaper (that's basically what we do for the class) and have a 99.9% chance of becoming editor senior year, which would really round off my leadership positions well. However, will taking journalism all these years (especially for a full year senior year) hurt my chances? I don't take it because it's an admittedly "easy" class. I'm also planning on taking two science classes (one will be college level, the others, honors), as well as college English and history classes and two math classes. If I don't take journalism, there's not really anything else I'd rather take, and 2 math/science classes is the most I'd be able to take for the year.

Will admissions frown upon this? Journalism is my only elective type class I've taken, aside from the required two years of PE and three years of foreign language.

Take the class bud. It looks good since it has some leadership involved in it and you'd be active in your school's community.

Dedication

Plenty of kids take Orchestra or Band all 4 years and it shows consistency and commitment and, often, leadership (section lead, drum major, etc.). If it is your interest and you can use the years of experience to lead, why not take it?
So long as the rest of your load is filled with 'rigor', an elective that is taken purely for interests and leadership I don't think could hurt you.
Interested to see what others say about this though.

Thanks for the advice, everyone. I don't want to sound like I'm just trying to please the Academy, because I'm not, I want to make myself competitive but want to enjoy myself in my classes at the same time, but I don't want them to think of me as a weak candidate because of my classes.

I took NJROTC all four years. Can't say Naval Science was ever a challenging class, but it was fun. I liked it. I didn't worry about what the Academy thought of it.

Have fun in high school. You're more likely to succeed if you like what you're doing anyway. You'll need outlets such as sports or clubs in an otherwise tough schedule. I ran Cross Country senior year just for the hell of it. Had a good time there too.

Thanks for the advice. And congrats on finishing your plebe year!
