Hello all!

I understand that this is a problem not just with me. I have been waiting for my bank agreement with the Cadet Bank after filling out the initial form. However, this occurred almost two months ago. I called the Cadet Bank over a month ago and informed them of my situation. They said that it wasn't just me; they haven't sent out most agreements yet. However, I still have not received anything. Does anyone have any information? Thanks so much!

I was in a similar situation. About a month ago I sent an email to the bank, and after two weeks received a reply asking me to send them my home address. Within another week the bank agreement arrived at my house.

my DS
got his back with account numbers and info just last week as well. He had sent in the package several weeks ago.

Is that with AFB or USAA?

Most people wind up at USAA, eventually, from what I've seen.

The AFB. Speaking of USAA, is it easy to link accounts when the AFB one is established?

Thank you to everyone! I've emailed the Cadet Bank and informed them of the situation! Much appreciated!

It is very easy to link non-USAA accounts to your USAA account using usaa.com. USAA doesn't have a branch on base but they will be available to get accounts setup. They will have reps there on I-Day and also have reps offering renters insurance on the day that Basics are issued laptops. Our whole family enjoys the USAA experience. DS cut over all his banking to them as soon as he could.

Navy Federal?

My son has had a Navy Federal account since he was born. Does anyone know if he'll have the opportunity to switch his direct deposit to his NF account instead of the cadet bank?

You can have your pay direct deposited basically wherever you want. It just takes the account info, a 1 page form, and a signature.

Usaa

Hi,

If I wanted to set up a bank account with usaa instead of afb, do I need to send in any paper work ahead of time before i-day?

Thanks,
Jennifer

I think you must have an AFB account initially and your paycheck will be direct deposited into it. If you are elligible you can go ahead and open a USAA account now. It can be opened online. Otherwise wait for BCT. To be USAA eligible now your parents would need to be USAA members. For them to be USAA members they would need to be or have been service members or decendents of a service member with a USAA account.

Hello all,

So after not receiving my agreement, I called the bank and they said that they were backed up. So I waited a month longer. I emailed them last week but still, no response. I will be leaving on Sunday and will not be home until a couple days before inprocessing. I'm going to call them again tomorrow, but I'm curious as to what the consequences will be if I am unsuccessful in getting my bank agreement signed and returned prior to I-day.

Blackbird is correct, you must open the AFB account, it is not an option for the incoming class(it has been this way for a while now). After you receive your computer before A-day you can set it up the USAA account pretty easily or if you have eligible relatives you can open one now.
