I've been looking everywhere for more information about age upon entry. Everything says you must not have passed your 23rd birthday on July 1 the year you enter the academy.

Can you be 23 on 1 July, or does your 23rd birthday have to be after 1 July of your entry year (which would make you still 22 when you actually step on the campus)

Sorry if this has been addressed, but I can't seem to find it.

If that is what it says, then if your 23rd birthday was on July 1, you would not have passed it yet. If your 23rd birthday was on June 30, then on July 1 you would be in a situation where your 23rd birthday has passed.

I suppose I was wondering what they consider having "passed" your birthday. If they consider it down to the day, or so long as you are within that age-year. My birthday is in Jan, which is why I'm concerned.

Will you turn 23 in Jan.? If so, then you will have passed your 23rd birthday prior to the deadline of July 1st of 2014. If not, you will not have passed your birthday.
 
I've already received an appointment to the Prep School, but i was wondering what the answer to this question was since my birthday is on July 1st
 
When you received a prep=school slot, they knew how old you were. Obviously, on June 30, the year you hopefully enter the academy, you won't be 23 years old.
 
I agree with Mike (shocker, right?)

The fact is they can do the same math as you can, and if they thought for a second that you would be too old, they would have requested an age waiver for you. You would know about that waiver.

Logically, why would they waste the money to send you to prep if there were no chance they could give you an appointment next yr?
 
I never said that I wouldn't get an appointment to the academy after 10 months of prep school if I turned 23 the next year... The answer to the question whether or not the requirement is on July 1st or before, would help in determining another individuals years of eligibility left. Btw I'm 20 I'm not worried about age, but I know someone out there will eventually want a 100% confirmation.
