Hello everyone,

I have a few questions regarding clubs for Plebes:

What is the difference between the combat weapons team and small unit tactics?

Is it possible for a plebe to participate in more than one club (e.g. paintball and the combat weapons team). If this is possible, will it take time away from my studies?

If I participate in a competitive club, will I also be required to play an intermural sport?

Thank you!

It will largely depend on how often the club practices and if it has "Authos" (Authorizations).

If it is a competitive club and practices enough it will be your "Competitive Athletics".

some of these clubs practice or compete on Saturday, and have authos to miss drill as well. Some do not.

But all cadets are involved in one of the three: Corps Squad (Varsity), Club, or Company athletics.

The Combat Weapons Team focuses on shooting - they train with rifles, pistols, and shotguns to compete in 3-gun and other shooting competitions.

The Small Unit Tactics Team focuses on training tactics - they teach and practice the various battle drills, etc. in much greater depth than you will see at Beast/Buckner/CLDT. If you want to know more about Small Unit Tactics, check out our Facebook Page and USMA Club Page or just send me a PM :thumb:
