It has been four years since our DD surprised us with the idea of joining the Army ROTC and I stumbled onto this forum. This summer she and others in the class of 2014 will be off to LDAC. That seemed so far away then but it has come very quickly.

It seems big changes in LDAC await this class. I thought starting an LDAC thread would be a useful way of sharing any insights from those attending this summer.

My DD starts on July 9 and finishes on August 5th. Anyone else have that schedule? She is scheduled for an AMEDD internship for the 3 weeks before LDAC. The good news for us is we live in Seattle and we'll get to pick her up from Joint Base Lewis McCord and see her for several weeks before she returns to school.

Good luck to her! I reported this week to JBLM as LDAC cadre, everything is really coming together in these last couple weeks before the regs start rolling in.

Living in Seattle comes in handy. Easy commute to LDAC for your daughter and you'll get to see the graduation. Cadet Delahanty is scheduled to spend July 8th travelling to Sea-Tac and on his return will be passing 6 hours in Chicago O'Hare beginning around midnight.

I'll be in the same regiment as both Delehanty and Mariner, I'll be 13th regiment from 08July to 05Aug, then I'll ship off to CTLT at Fort Richardson, Alaska until 01September (two days before school starts).

Awesome. Do you know what unit you're going to on Ft. Richardson?

I report 21 June. I'll try and post some insight after I get done.

I only know that I will be with a Military Police unit while up there, still waiting on more complete orders from my cadre right now.

This is a great site. It is targeted to last year's LDAC. I wonder if Aglahad can tell us if/when it might be updated for 2013?

Here's a link to the official Facebook LDAC 2013 page.

Top APFT scores so far.

400: Chelsey Williams, 1st Regiment, University of North Dakota.
407: Timothy Mooney, 3rd Regiment, Colorado State University

Cadet Mooney may very well be a human push-up machine with 134 in two minutes. I doubt I could count out loud as fast as he was doing them, especially once he passed 100.

Fast forward two years. Platoon meets their new Platoon Leader 2LT Mooney. PT test this day. The platoon is going to show the new LT how PT is done. Boy, will they be in for a surprise.

Contest

Wow - that is a wicked long exposure! Pretty cool.

Struck with the wicked short hair cuts. Wonder if they give prizes at the end for the longest hair. DS left yesterday for CULP, same hair deal, had more the day he was born.
