My daughter will be an MS-IV in the Fall and is currently taking summer school classes. She has heard a rumor that MS-IV's will not be getting the 'raise' in their stipend next year and it's been frozen at the MS-III rate of $450. She didn't know if the MS-I thru III's were effected at all.

I'm not implying it's true because 99% of the time, I'd read about something on here long before my daughter ever hears about it in her little corner of the world.

As of one minute ago, the monthly living allowances for MS4s are indicated on the GoArmy.com website as $500, and no changes are indicated for the first three years either. When I checked some months ago, the AFROTC and NROTC websites were quick to update when their respective stipends were reduced.

All of these budget issues make me very nervous to just be starting my ROTC journey.... Wish I could've gotten in back in like '04.

I think many on here would beg to differ....3-4 deployments would probably change your outlook.

Not worth fretting over - even if standards were a tad lower in 2004, they weren't taking nine year olds.

When they tell you to bring your own bullets, then it'll be time to worry.
