What can I do to improve my odds? and does this seem like a good resume?

3.8 gpa
25 ACT (29 in math)
Football (varsity for 2 years)
National Honor society
2 years on student gov.
Senior Class Treasurer
Choir for 3 years
20 Volunteer Hours
Ambassador club

Please give me your input, anything helps!

You have better odds applying than not applying. You should try to improve your ACT score. Looks like leadership could be stronger as well. Just my $0.02.

This, in the end, is the only advice you will get here that you can bank on.

Suggestions:

Retake your ACT, possibly try the SAT (some people do better on one or the other)

Seek leadership positions over the summer and fall in your extracurriculars

Do the best you can on the application.

Good luck.

If you got a 29 on the math portion, I'm envious, and you should be able to rock the other portions of the test if you study. Check my stats off one of my threads and compare, I'd say we're fairly similar.

What schools are you looking at and what major?

A lot will depend on the schools you list on your application.

Is there a chance you will be a Captain of your Football team.

As others have said, try and get leadership positions in any of the clubs and organizations you belong.

Remember, AROTC superscores your ACT, try and concentrate on the areas you were weak in, this will increase your overall score, your Math is good, try and bring the other areas up.

You should still have your application ready to submit for the first board, you can always update your ACT scores if you are not awarded a scholarship on the first board.

One may wish to reconsider using ones real name in a online forum.

Very good advice for all.

Nothing wrong with starting over with a new user name and let this one die.

My school of choice is VMI, However I'm also considering The Citadel and Ohio St.

Your ACT is low, getting admitted to Ohio State with a 25 ACT is a MAYBE at best, you should be looking at schools where your stats put you in the top 25% to get a AROTC scholarship (not the bottom 25% of the class)

At UNG or BHSU you are an top 25-50%/Honors student, at OSU, you are not.

Remember, once you graduate and commission, everybody starts out the same, as a butter bar 2nd LT.

Get that ACT/SAT up, or bring your expectations down, good luck.
