DS was offered and accepted 3-year AROTC Scholarship. After taking his medical exam, he was sent a letter instructing him to retest on vision due to his low score on colorblind test. He did retest and was passed (by the slightest margin) and was qualified.

Here is my worried father question. He has taken a few practice tests online since being qualified unsuccessfully. I have been told that his DoDMERB Qualification is good through his contracting date (August of his sophomore year). However, is there is a chance that during some other medical exam later down the road that he could be excused?

Thanks for any insight!

He won't be tested for vision again at LDAC unless there is some sort of consult or flagged issue in his DA-2807 or other medical update form when he meets with the WF surgeon. Now if he is trying for aviation that is a whole other story....

I remember doing all sorts of physicals at camp. I guess things change.

I couldn't edit my post for some reason. Anyways, I distinctly remember being in a room in my PTs (the grey sweats) having to duck walk, bear crawl, etc for a physical. Is this no longer the case?

Did they make you quack and growl? Are you sure it wasn't a practical joke?

It's an exam that shows orthopedic issues. I cant be the only one who went through the exam. I need some backup people!

Yup. I had to Duck Walk in the 80's during a MEPS physical. Didn't have to do it for a commissioning physical though. If the Military Channel ever shows the movie The Outsider; Tony Curtis as Ira Hayes (flag raiser at Iwo Jima), I'm pretty sure they had him doing the Duck Walk during the induction physical scene.
