What is normal life like after Plebe year for the rest of your years?

Once the whole Brigade is back, does everyone take part in "training" the Plebes?

Is the 3rd year class now "free"?

Do the other classes stand inspection, room inspection, etc?

Do you get to wear civies and go out freely?

I know everyone is still studying intently, but is an average day or week like for the other three classes?

Thank you!

Just finished up Plebe year but let me give it a shot.

What is normal life like after Plebe year for the rest of your years?

-Typically comes with an increased academic workload and less free time. 3rd class now have Sunday liberty and 2nd class have Friday liberty with civilian clothes and driving privileges.

Once the whole Brigade is back, does everyone take part in "training" the Plebes?

-Usually not. It really depends on the company, but "training" by non-training staff (i.e. the two 2/C and the one 1/C) is highly frowned upon by peers. 3/C usually look the other way when plebes break "rules", and most 2/C and 1/C are too busy to even care. Most guys just don't want to get that "joe" reputation.

Is the 3rd year class now "free"?

-Free from the fourth class system, yes. There's still alot of restrictions placed on 3/C, such as uniforms as liberty attire, no driving, no friday night liberty, no civilian clothes, etc... At least 3/C can listen to music and walk to our destination :thumb: However, some company's require their 3/C to attend Saturday Morning Training.

Do the other classes stand inspection, room inspection, etc?

-Yep, there's a bi-annual Alpha inspection all classes have to go through. All classes are expected to keep their rooms in inspection ready condition at all times, anyway. When nobody is in the room, like during class, the door must be propped open so that the SELs and COs can inspect the room. Uniform inspection is Thursday for all classes during noon meal formation. It's not taken very seriously in most, if not all, companys.

Do you get to wear civies and go out freely?

-Only 1/C and 2/C are allowed civies in Annapolis, and 3/C are allowed civies during weekend liberty outside of a 22 mile radius.

I know everyone is still studying intently, but is an average day or week like for the other three classes?

-Do you mean "what"* is an average day or week like? Usually wake up at 6:45, formation, go to breakfast, go to class at 7:45. Morning classes last until 11:45, formation at 12:05, lunch period till 1:20. Afternoon classes end at 3:20. Athletic reserve period until 7:00 for varsity athletes. Study for the rest of the night. No lights-out is enforced.

So, the only thing that really differs between 4/C and the rest of the brigade is morning workouts, training during free time, and 11:00 lights out.

During an overnight visit, the plebe i was staying with had acces to music and movies (netflix-youtube) they also had carry-on after beating Air Force, i dont know if this is a reason.

Shawn's description is quite accurate. A few things I would add:

After getting through plebe year, your pay doubles, and increases by $100 each year! And when you get to your 2/C year, you can get a loan of over $30k for an extremely low interest rate, called a career starter loan.

You might be free from the 4/C system after plebe year but you will still be subject to the following no matter what rank you are at the academy:

If you are overweight or fail the semester fitness test, you'll will have to attend remedial workouts (which can vary based on the person running the program. It could be early in the morning or in the afternoon or both). Based on what company your in, some companies require that you attend remedials if you get less than a B on your fitness test, and as a 3/C, you don't have a lot of say in the matter. Failure of your fitness test or being over the limit for body fat could result in loss of liberty.

If you struggle academically, you will want to seek out extra instruction (E.I.) which will most likely happen after classes (if you happen to struggle with your weight or fitness AND academics, you can see where a conflict can start, and they like to keep accountablility too). If by the first grading period you have more than one D, loss of liberty is very likely for a lot of companies.

Lastly, if you do something incredibily stupid to warrant being placed on restriction, your life will suck to put it simply!

Plebes who are escorting "drags" get carry on while they have their drag.
