Submitted my NROTC and AFROTC online applications how long does it take usually before an interview is set up? Also are there any steps in between submission and interview that I should be aware of?

For NROTC MO, DS had to have a picture taken in a sports jacket, tie and black slacks... athletic fit. He wore that to the interview and they took the picture there. He also did the PFT immediately after the interview. If you're doing Navy Option YMMV. I think for AFROTC you have to make a paper airplane! (Just kidding... I have no idea what there might be for AFROTC).

I think for AFROTC your should brush up on your golf game. :yllol:

I remember that right before I went for my interview, I was tested on my skills at an 18 hole course.

But in all seriousness (for AF) you should receive word about conducting an interviewing fairly shortly via snail mail. Interview location will be based upon geographic area - closest Detachment to you.

However, depending on the circumstances, you may be able to get someone else to interview you (outside of a Det). For example, in my case I knew the ALO (AFA Liaison Officer) in my area, and was able to interview with her instead of driving 2+ hours to my next closest Det.

Addressing the "in between" question - just start preparing for the interview now. Here's a good place to start: AROTC/AFROTC Interview Tips
