Contacting Det 720 (Penn State AFROTC)

Thompson is not AFROTC, he is AROTC. He applied for AFROTC scholarship, but decided in the end to take AROTC.
Please understand summer time is skeleton levels. They have members taking leave. Members PCSing. ETC. Now add in the FURLOUGH situation. A GS in the unit must take 1 day off a week. GS's also can not work more than 8 hrs a day. If they report at 7:30, take no lunch, than they have to be out by 3:30. 4 Days out of 5.
I am not sure why you want to contact them, but if I am correct you are a rising sr. in hs. Right now you are way down on their priority list because the 1st board will not meet until DECEMBER. Meanwhile. they are working with the recent grads and their orders, getting orientation ready for 17s, processing TS and flight physicals for rising rated 400s, racking and stacking rising 400s for the non-rated board, etc.
They are doing this all on a skeleton crew and furloughed staff.

kinnem, I am thoroughly disappointed ... after all those conversations we had 
As Pima said, 720 may be running on a skeleton crew - couldn't tell you since I'm on the next floor up. I knew the admissions officer well - and we have a great rapport, however his ROTC endeavors ended effective June 2013, and he PCS'ed elsewhere.
I know there is some degree of activity going on with 720 (recruiting), but I'm not sure specifically regarding cadre. I saw the new admissions officer .... however, she is pregnant - so, combine that with what Pima said and her hours may be really wacky.
... but if you decide to come up a floor to Army - there will be plenty of cadre (and me) around to answer questions!

I am not sure how the admissions dept can assist them regarding contacting someone. It appears that Boyer has their contact info, but nobody is answering their phones.
I would think their email address will be a af.mil address, they probably also have a PSU.edu email, but if they are answering emails, it would probably be better off to contact using the af.mil.

Pima is right. No one is answerring the phones or returning messages. Unfortunately their website does not have many alternative forms of contact info. I am currently a freshmen/sophomore (20 completed credits) at Penn State Berks. I will be transferring to main campus FALL 2014 . I wanted to contact them about how I should be scheduling courses this year because of my backstory. I already have one year of AFROTC done. So depending on if they will start me as a 100 or 200 it will have a big deciding factor as to if I work towards a masters or minor(s) in order to stay in college for the three or possibly four years at main campus.

He should be a 200 since he completed 100 yr.

Unless you are going to really load up on credits, you will automatically be there for at least 3 1/2 yrs due to the fact that right now you really only are a 2nd semester freshman with only 20 credits. Our kids, all non-tech have carried at least 17 credits a semester. DS carried as a govt/poli sci major carried 19 credits every semester for all 4 yrs.
I don't know what your major is, but many of your higher level courses will have pre-reqs and typically they only offer those courses 1x a yr. Colleges do this so kids with 15-30 AP credits can't graduate early.
Additionally as a 100 you know that 200 yr is SFT selection, overloading on classes while getting accustomed to a new school can hamper your cgpa. Graduating in 3 yrs by overloading to get back on track can do more harm than good if you don't get selected for SFT. If you expect to catch up during the summer, the problem is you won't know your Max class date until @ end of April, after summer registration.
Back on topic, there is a simple answer to your problem now that we know you were a 100 this past yr. Contact your old det. They will have a direct email for people at the det. One call or email to them should give you the direct email that they answer. Like I said it usually is something along the lines of johnsmith@detachment720.af.mil. I can't get rid of the blue link, so please don't use it, it was just an example, of how the email system works.
