AP Scores to boost profile?

I am aware that one's AP test scores are not required (or even asked for) by USNA, but I was wondering whether emailing them to my admissions officer, along with verification, would be beneficial to my admissions file.

I have taken 6 exams so far in high school:

AP European History: 5
AP US Government: 5
AP Comparative Government: 5
AP English Literature: 5
AP Chemistry: 4
AP Calculus AB: 5

I figured that the history/government exams would not be as important, but I was curious as to the Calculus and Chemistry scores, as I know USNA emphasizes math and science in regards to their admissions process, and my scores on these exams (primarily math) would atest to my strength in those areas.

Any input would be appreciated
Thanks

AP

You should submit your AP scores officially like you do your SATs/ACTs. There is a code for the Naval Academy. You can go online and request an official copy gets sent. You certainly submit you scores unofficially direct to your AO.
Any score of 5 helps boost your profile. Common sense would dictate that 5's in chemistry and calculus are a big plus.

Congratulations.

You've validated U.S. Government and English I. The only way for you to claim your validation is to send those scores.

Judging by that Calc AB score, you're going to test out of Calculus I. If you're taking Calc BC this year and manage to retain that information well, you'll probably test out of Calc II as well.

Judging by your Chem AP score, you'll probably test out of Chem I, and either test out of Chem II as well (and move straight to Physics) or be placed in Modern Chemistry, a one semester accelerated chem course. People who score 4s and 5s on AP Chem usually either validate Chemistry entirely or murder the course.

If anything, these scores indicate that you should be able to make light work of plebe Chemistry and Calculus, the "plebe killer" courses, and they help to show that you are indeed academically qualified.

Send the scores. Really, those are awesome scores. Any other university would probably give you more than a semester's worth of course credit for those scores. And USNA knows that.

By all means have your AP scores sent officially to USNA! In addition to earning validation opportunities, they also indicate the academic level on which you are performing. I would guess they also would validate your SAT or ACT scores.
