When I did the questionnaire, I answered no for past marihuana experimentation, scared of what they might think if I answered yes. I now feel guilty and want to come clean. How can I open my questionnaire back up or start over on the application without calling the office and directly saying that I lied? Thanks!

If it is AFROTC, I don't believe when you hit the submit button you can re-open anything except your SAT/ACT scores without them over-riding the system. You need to contact them.
I believe you will also be asked about marijuana use on your DoDMERB exam too. You will also be asked about it for security clearances.
So when you do clear it up, be completely honest because the number you give will keep coming up. There was a poster on here that did not come clean in the beginning....shaded off the number of times used. They were dis-enrolled when it came to light of the actual number.
Additionally, nobody knows what the magic number that is considered experimental, so again just be honest with the real number.

Just curious of why you think it would not be a problem if there were differing answers.
Granted they only do the Q or DQ, but your medical records go into your military file. Sooner or later that answer can trigger a problem.
As we have all said, call and rectify the problem now. The AF does not believe 17 yr old kids are angels with halos, they are not naive. The marijuana question is more about determining experimentation or habitual use.
Nobody here can tell you the number. I have heard everything from 3 to 12 times.

It has been stated multiple times now. Being truthful from here on out is not your problem.
You need the original paperwork to match, and the only way to do it is to contact the HQ.
I think as a 17 yo, this scares the beegeegees out of you to contact them, but don't let it. You are not the 1st, nor will you be the last that shaded the truth and had a crisis of conscience.
The people at HQ, believe or not were 17 too at one time.
They are not your enemy. I just keep getting a feeling you are trying to find out if there is anyway you can move forward without HQ finding out.
I am sure there is, but be smart...what if they catch it during your TS clearance as a 400. They dis-enroll you. You were scholarship...can you find the money to pay back 4 yrs of scholarship.
That is what happens when they find out and dis-enroll you as a POC. You owe the money. Due to budget constraints, the enlistment option is really no longer an option.

Okay, I just emailed them saying that I lied because I was scared and I just want to come clean now. Since this is Air Force rotc, will it have any effect on my Air Force academy application? I was honest on that and wrote the essays on my use for the Air Force academy

IOTW, AFROTC does not know what you placed on the AFA. AFROTC boards are in Maxwell. AFA boards are in CSprings.
One thing to understand is both AFA and AFROTC require interviews. This may now be a flag since you can use your ALO as your AFROTC interview. They may ask why you lied to AFROTC and not AFA?
Our DS did both AFA and AFROTC, he never interviewed at a college. His ALO called him at home and said...Pima DS, just need to tell you this is our official interview for AFROTC.
