Hi,

What type of alcohol abuse would constitute as waiverable? If I report that I have drank twice before would that not allow me to get into the academy?

Not sure how the question is worded, but drinking is not necessarily alcohol abuse. And no, IMO, it would not necessarily prevent you from getting into the academy.

You don't even need a waiver for that, don't worry about it.

Edit:

It also depends what kind of drinking, if only light social drinking you are fine.

Yeah it was more social drinking. About 15 kids at a girl's house after prom, then also at one of my buddy's grad party. Should I bring this instances up to my ALO? Part of me wants to just to be on the safe side, but I don't want to unnecessarily hurt my chances of admission.

The truth is always the best policy. Drugs. Alcohol. Something else. Doesn't matter.

It's not gonna hurt your chances, and honesty is the best policy anyway.

"Alcohol Abuse" has a very specific definition in respect to the AF Form 2030.

Quoting from the briefing I gave a young lady yesterday:

Alcohol abuse is defined as "Alcohol use confirmed by competent medical authority that the individual is emotionally, mentally or physically dependent on alcohol. NOTE: When not confirmed by medical authority, self-admitted alcohol use that leads to a person's misconduct or unacceptable behavior; to the impairment of work performance, physical or mental health, financial responsibility or personal relationships; must be reported during the medical examination for determination of alcohol abuse."

Your ALO will be required to go over all the definitions, explaining everything, until you're satisfied that you fully understand it all. ONLY then will he/she "clear" you to complete the form online.
