My DS is scheduled to have cvw this Thursday. What happens with shutdown?

I am sure admissions will distribute information for this situation. You can always call too. If the shutdown continues and Mids are in fact not in class, might not be the greatest week to attend. Won't help your DS get the complete picture of everything at USNA, but I suppose any opportunity to see USNA and talk to Mids is beneficial. Fingers crossed it only lasts a day or two.

I'm wondering as well as ds is scheduled to go here in two days also.

there is a facebook post by USNA Admissions that states CVW's will go on as planned. hope that helps a bit?!

Facebook post from Admissions

"Due to the shutdown of the government, all USNA Office of Admissions civilian personnel have been furloughed. The remaining military staff will be on duty, however, candidates and prospective candidates may experience delays in application processing. This page will continue to be monitored, however we recommend that you contact our office by phone at 410-293-1858 or via your admissions counselor's email for the fastest response. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Please note: All events sponsored by the admissions office (forums, CVW, etc. will go on as planned until further notice)."

There was also a post via twitter stating the Navy / AF Game may be not be played as per the AF AD

NA updated twitter stating that some classes and most technical labs, as well as some languages will be cancelled

That's because most of those courses have civilian professors.

Of the three academies, the Naval Academy, by far, has the most civilian professors. Consequently, from an academic prospective, the Naval Academy is impacted to a much greater extent than USMA and USAFA.
