DS is the MS1 on AROTC Ranger Challenge team. Are spectators allowed?

Congratulations to your son on being selected. Participating in Ranger Challenge was a catalyst for improvement in Cadet Delahanty's performance in AROTC and at school overall.

The competition is likely to be a grind of 36 or so hours with not much sleep. I don't know about Fort Dix, but the competition is not really geared to accommodate non-military spectators, even if you could get permission from the brigade and the battalion. I know the last thing Cadet Delahanty and his teammates would have wanted at the end of a long ruck march would have been me and Mrs. Delahanty exhorting them to hurry.

You said that so much better than I.

Congratulations to your son as well, they are only required to take one MS1, you should be proud.

I thought I knew the answer but the mom in me had to ask.
School is 5 hrs away and Ft Dix only about an hour.
Thanks for the confirmation !

He worked hard to be prepared and is ecstatic to have been selected especially as a MS 1.
We are very proud of him. We are looking forward to the contracting ceremony and meeting the rest of his cadre in 2 weeks.

Congrats! DS has enjoyed challenges of team as well

Does anyone even know if the competition will still take place/be postponed? Last I heard from cadre was that it was still up in the air ...

DS said they were all set to go, because I asked; however, he is not an alternate so any changes might not reach him immediately if team is stonewalled.

We encourage our parents to attend if they can. Not sure why anyone would suggest they don't. Talk to the Battalion and see what they think.

If you are a civilian visiting Fort Dix please make sure you check your vehicle documents before leaving home, proof of insurance is a MUST.

Thanks! @ Clarkson - does your battalion go to Fort Dix for Ranger challenge?
@IR1R -thanks for the reminder.

We do...We are part of Second Brigade, and finished right behind Penn State last year.

Yes-I had seen my college alma mater won last year. I'll check with DS's cadre next week at the contracting ceremony about non- military spectators. If allowed- I'll be there cheering for Three Rivers Battalion!
