What is the protocol for suspending an Army ROTC cadet's scholarship due to a PT test failure? I have a good friend whose scholarship has been unexpectedly suspended after failing the first two PT tests of her 300 year. She missed the 60% standard on the run by 10 seconds but has generally done well on PT tests in the past (270 on last PT test of sophomore year). She is a fine cadet in all other aspects.
She has now been instructed to being applying for financial aid and student loans because her scholarship may not be reinstated even if she passess the next PT test. Furthermore, she was told during the counseling after the first PT test that she had until 15 December to pass, otherwise she would risk suspension. That was on the counseling statement that she signed. Needless to say, it is nowhere near 15 December right now. CLEARLY it is her fault for not passing the PT test. These kinds of things don't happen to people who pass their PT tests. But is this the way things normally work with scholarship suspensions? I'm inclined to think that your scholarship can be suspended at the discretion of your PMS for any PT test failure, but I'd like to get confirmation of that.
