I thought that EA1 was to begin today. Any idea if the shutdown would impact or delay this?

Today remains the EA1 deadline, we actually starting conducting EA1 reviews last week, so no delay due to the federal government shutdown.

Transcripts and PFE not posted Bears Den

Objee,
Would the explaination about the data posting delay you posted last year still apply this year?
DS got a little worried this morning when he noticed it didn't reflect that he was conplete in both areas.
Might could be a good "sticky" ? Looks like you answer the same questions EVERY year.

Yes...same data flow and processing procedures as last year. If you don't mind "bumping" that old thread up, I'm sure others would appreciate it.

Thanks Objee and others.

As Tom Petty says, "The Waiting is the hardest part".

In the meantime life goes on. DS had Convocation today. What an awesome guest speaker. Dr. Christopher Howard. He is President of Hampden-Sydney College and is one of the youngest college presidents in the United States.

This guy was a dynamic and interesting speaker to high school seniors and parents alike.

It's a Big Week for EA1 applicants. DS has been in contact with his AO and as he understands it the board will be reviewing about 70 potential appointees tomorrow and Thursday.

DS could know by Friday "unofficially" if an Appointment is forthcoming. DS is cautiously optimistic. Dear wife asks the same questions everyday as she is clearly anxious. Dad lurks on the forum to glean any information possible.

In other positive news. DS's friend, teammate and fellow AFJROTC cadet received his LOA for his first choice USNA.

Back to DS, we are prepared to receive the biggest news of his young life either way. Semper Paratus

Fingers Crossed!

USCGA_2018, you know already that USNA02 mom and DS have fingers crossed for Friday.

As you probably know, within 5 minutes of DS posting or tweeting or whatever he did that he had gotten the LOA, your DS and two other good friends were knocking at the door and there were hugs, cheers and tears all around. OK, maybe the tears were mine!

These boys are super close and regardless of where either of them end up, I know they will continue to support each other in their respective dreams. That, my friend, is priceless.

Here's hoping the week does not drag on endlessly and good news is forthcoming!

Thanks for the support USNA02 We were rooting for your DS all the way. Funny how they applied to all the SA's combined, but without any overlapping schools. My DS was not really interested in Navy, but maybe if he realized how apparently easy it is to get in... he might have given it another thought. Your DS will probably get into AFA as well. I guess if you aim low...

Have you stopped laughing yet?

Deep Run HS has had great success placing multiple students in the various SA's in recent years. We're working to keep the streak going! If there is good news, you'll likely hear it from your DS or me before it hits the forum.

Good luck to all of the EA1 candidates!

Still laughing! Had to read it twice and then remembered the source.

All kidding aside, like everyone else on here, so proud of DS for expending so much time and energy to get all in order and off to the SA's and MOC's in a timely manner. This is not for the faint of heart, but hopefully the journey is just beginning.

We just need a MOC or two two fall in step. :)
