My ds submitted his NROTC application in August and his USCGA application Oct 15. He just got the info to complete his DoDMERB and per the DoD website it says Approved Oct 17. NROTC contact said it did not come from them. Per other posts USCGA does start the DODMERB process once a candidate is shown to be "academically competitive" but to have this turn around within 2 days seems amazingly fast. Have other EA applicants received their DoDMERB info yet?

I wouldn't read too much into this. Normally ROTC programs do not do DODMERB until a scholarship is awarded, yet each year there are always a few folks who get sent to DODMERB prior to a scholarship. The point is, regardless of who is requesting it, I think it is sometimes just a scheduling thing. Probably some DODMERB doc in your area has some time on his or her hands.

My DD also submitted her Coast Guard application for Early 1 on the 15th of October - she was already sent her Dodmerb schedule documentation.

Wow very impressive USCGA! However, he called to schedule the exam and can't get an appointment until December anyway.

We normally forward the applicant's name to DoDMERB within 2-3 days of them submitting all required application items and being found academically competitive for appointment. We try to be as fast as possible since, as your son experienced, appointment slots can fill up quickly in certain areas of the country.
