New Hats for Marines??

What are y'all thoughts on the possibility of changing the hats for the Marines?

Is it worth spending all of the money in this budget crisis to make them more gender neutral?
 
I think they said that the Commandant has to approve them first. They wouldn't even let females have red stripes on their skirts so I doubt they'll allow this.
 
In before someone reminds you that they are "covers" not "hats."
 
There is already a thread going on Military News, you might want to ask the mods to combine these two threads.
