Hi! New SAT scores came out yesterday.
My son's NROTC app is at "Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination."
How does he update his app with the new SAT scores? He has requested the scores be sent directly by College board, but that could take 3 weeks or more until they are received and posted.

Also...his portal status has remained the same for the past two weeks as seen below:
"Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination. Selection decisions will begin in late August and continue until the end of April. Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected."

What happens next...and when?
Thanks!

I am sure kinnem or others will chime in about what happens next, but they basically said it in the text.

Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected

IOW, if he is re-boarded until April, than you will hear nothing until April. If he selected next board he will hear at that time. The same if they decide not to offer any scholarship.

After they award a scholarship they will request a DoDMerb exam to be performed. If you know that he may have a medical issue, take this time to get his medical records in order. The biggest thing I have seen is prescribed inhalers, by the doc for the JIC. It has to be acknowledged since it is in their med records. That may start the DQ process. Having proof that the inhaler was never used will help.

The other issue has been eyes, especially for Navy. I cannot tell you how many posters never knew they had a color deficiency until they took the exam. If you have health insurance that covers eye exams, and your child does not wear glasses, still use it for an exam.

Take a screen shot of the scores and attach them to an email. They updated my DS ACT scores almost immediately once he sent the email. Your dashboard will reflect the new scores once they are in. Good luck!

Thanks! This may sound like a dumb question, but where does he send the email…what is the address?

Reboarded until April? We were under the assumption that these boards were meeting weekly or at least monthly? How does one know if they are rebounded?

As far as DodMerb…he is qualified USNA, USAFA, and USMA, so I don't think he will encounter an issue there. ALthough, your advice is greatly appreciated.

NROTC does not normally inform people if they were reboarded. They do notify of receipt of a scholarship. If you are continually reboarded you may not hear a definitive, and perhaps negative, answer until April.

Yes the board meets monthly but there are thousands of applications to process, on a first come first served basis. They can only process so many applications while they meet.

I think Georgia Mom had a good idea about emailing the scores. I do not know what the proper email address might be. You might try calling here to find out: 1.800.NAV.ROTC Option 3, Ext. 0,1. Alternatively it looks like the Application Adjustments link in the NROTC contacts web page would probably be the right spot to do this. http://www.netc.navy.mil/nstc/cx/contactXC.asp?ag2

Reboarded?

The old adage is no news is good news. You won't be told if they are re-boarded. They will just keep re-boarding until they make a decision.

OBTW they are meeting bi-weekly/monthly, and will until April. Just like the AF will be boarding from Dec through Mar., and Army will do the same.

Come April, many (A/NROTC) will go through the process of transferring the scholarship from a school awarded to the school they plan to matriculate to as a freshmen.

When we say this is the rollercoaster ride of a lifetime, we are not kidding.
~~~~ High awarded a scholarship
~~ Low to a school that they got denied admission or absolute last choice.
~~~~ High can transfer the scholarship
~~ Low not awarded the transfer
~~~~ High last minute transfer in July to number 1 choice
~~ Low didn't pay the deposit for number 1 and scrambling to get them in!
Thank you! After my post, I too went to the website to search for the answer, and found the Application Adjustments link…a perfect place to start!
I do appreciate the help!
