Hello all!

A little background: I am a AS200 with an ABM scholarship. I just got my AFOQT scores back and cannot figure out definitively how to calculate if I passed the ABM minimums. What do you I need to get in order to qualify for the ABM slot?

Thanks!

Not too sure on the ABM minimums. But I do know that you can find your scores online through the Pilot Candidate Selection Method (PCSM) website.

I'm surprised that you do not know. I would have figured that they would have the minimum on one of the criteria before you contract (Ex. Must have this passing score to still maintain scholarship standards).

I have my scores. I just do not know what scores I need in order to satisfy the ABM requirement.

I have been rather unaware of what's expected of me in regards to my scholarship. We have a brand new det commander this fall straight from the operational AF who did have any answers to my questions about my scholarship :frown:

Just a guess.

As an ABM scholarship recipient as long as you pass the AFOQT you will be fine because you will not be competing for a slot from the rated board. You already have the slot.

how do you have a scholarship for a rated slot? Can someone give more info on that?

AFROTC a few yrs back created a scholarship for ABM and CSO rated slots. If you elect to take this path, and commission you will go ABM or CSO depending on which scholarship that the AF selected you as a cadet.

The scholarship exists now because of critical manning for those career fields. It does not include RPA or Pilot. Google AFROTC ABM or CSO scholarship and it will pop up.

ABM = a lot of TDY.
CSO = no chance for applying for UPT for yrs. You will need to wait for a IFS and UNT class date. 1 yr at UNT. SERE and water survival. FTU. Going Operational. At that point you can apply. If all things fall into place you are looking @ 5 yrs from commissioning before you get the chance to apply. Than you also have to hope they will not do a stop/loss for CSO or you not past the age requirement.

are these in college scholarship options. Do you apply for it or are you recommended?

The scholarship was offered to 100 and 200 cadets last year and I chose which one I wanted to apply for. Commander's ranking does play a role in whether you not you get an in college scholarship, so I guess you are in a way recommended.

The unofficial word I have heard around our det is that these cso and abm scholarships won't be back this semester.
