any word on nominations or interviews for selection of them in IL?

In KS my DS didn't receive notice of an interview until 2-3 weeks after the deadline of submitting the applications for all MOC.

IL noms-last yr

if last year is anything to go by

Son didnt interview with Kirk/Durbin. Durbin sent him a letter dated 11/20 saying congrats you got a nom. Kirk sent him a letter a month later saying no nom for you since you got durbin's nom.

Roskam emailed for an interview on 11/20. Son's 20 minute interview was on 12/1. on 12/17 he received a phone calling congratulating him on his nom from Roskam.

we never did find out who the nom was attributed to-we just assumed Roskam.

good luck!!!!

if you have any questions about the process feel free to message me. son is a plebe at usna now

Districts changed. Last year mid December is when most people I know found out.

DS received a call from Bill Foster's office asking which of three Saturdays in November would he be available for an interview.

He has not heard from either Kirk or Durbin other than the acknowledgement that his application was received and is complete.

Received an email from Kirk and a letter from Durbin confirming that DS's packets are complete. Probably not a huge deal to DS, but it sure makes Mom feel better when they confirm they have everything.

Durbin's deadline to submit materials was pushed back a week. I wonder if it's because the number of apps is down this year?

Interviews-any updates?

I heard Kirk will have interviews 2nd week in December. Anyone else hear any updates?

My son just got an interview with MOC Hultgren for Dec. 7 (during the SAT! so we have to tweak the time) but we have not gotten interview times from either Senator yet. Just letters/emails stating his packet is complete.

Son interviewed with Bill Foster's committee on Saturday. Said it "was weird." Said the first guy on the panel just starred at him for what felt like an eternity, then finally mumbled his question which son didn't understand, asked him to repeat it and the guy barked out the question. Said even though we talked about potential scenerios like this, it still threw him. He thinks he recovered with the rest of the people but is not sure.

Good luck everyone!

Dial,
The good news about your anxiety provoking story is that your DS got an early experience in what will happen over and over again both in the military and in civilian professional life.

I do tell the story about how my son did so poorly in his FFR interview that he was told to "improve your eye contact, and while your at it retake your ACTs"

The interviewers, though, on the MOC nomination committee are constituents who are in some way affiliated with the military (served or family members) they are NOT necessarily people with social skills or interpersonal skills. It sounds like your son weathered it just fine.

Keep us informed, I always love to hear about others from the Land of Lincoln.

Good luck!

MOC interview

last night DS had MOC - congressional interview. Senator interview scheduled for 12/14.

What Senator is your interview with and how did they inform you? My DS hasn't heard a word from either Senator but he does have the interview set with our Congressman.

He never did hear from Kirk when he sent in his application. He called them and they said they had sent him an email that they received it and had everything they needed, but he never got the email. I wonder if they could have his email address incorrect.

He did get a response from Durbin that they received his application.

Any information is greatly appreciated.
