My son received a thin white envelope from admissions. He won't be home for several more hours from school. What could it be? It's to early for a rejection right? If i open it he will kill me lol. He is not answering his phone , I sent an email hopefully he calls soon .

It could be anything. Let's not get too excited. Please post when you know.

He still hasn't called , he won't be home from school till 10:00 pm or so. It's what his school calls a school night . I hope he calls before then.

My kid would have killed me if I ever did that. Parental patience is in order. This is his journey. Surely you can wait a few hours more.

How solid is a LOA anyway?

Provided you get a nomination and pass the DoDMERB and don't screw up grade-wise or otherwise the rest of the year, it's as solid as you can get.

Thanks Kinnem-your the best!Dodmerb is complete and grades will be good.I am just hoping I get nomination.Someone said-"just smooze the MOC".I don't know them and I thought they frowned upon that stuff.I hope I make that slate!

Is it a window envelope? I got one today from Admissions. It was a flyer for a USNA admissions forum in Dallas. And I'm a senior with a completed file, not a junior looking for information. Not that I won't go. Just that my name was on a list at USNA and I got a letter for an event near me.

Hopefully yours is a LOA.

My DD got two thin white envelopes today, and both were flyers for the admissions forum in Boston.

+1

Kinnem is spot on as always. I was in the same boat several weeks ago. It was a Friday and DS was on a date. I did call him and let him know it was here. Even though he told me I could open it, I said no it was not addressed to me.

So glad I left it for him. He and his date showed up soon after I called and watching his reaction as he opened, read and processed that he was holding an LOA is a memory I will treasure for a long time.

Yeah, don't smooze the MOC. that would be a bad choice.

Look. Being nervous and edgy can be good. It can help you focus. (I've often said fear is a great motivator). Use it to do well in the interview and certainly don't slack off on prep. Having said that, the academy saw something in you that drove then to offer you an LOA. I've no doubt the MOC's committee's will see the same thing. When the time comes, just be yourself, and answer thoughtfully from your heart. You'll do just fine. :thumb:

Today I recieved a letter from Naval about a forum in Dallas as well. That's probably what it is depending on your location.

Sorry life gets busy here. It was an invitation to the forum in Boston . He has received 2 nominations ,Senator Shaheen and congresswoman Kuster . Senator Ayotte sent a letter saying had he not had the 2 other nominations she would have given him one . Now it's just a waiting game.
