Branching was supposed to be finished tomorrow, 12 NOV. Because of the shut down and the delay in the Army's budget, the rumor mill has the branching being delayed. I've heard 0 days, 3 days, and 7 days.
Basically, no one really knows. Until that happens, keep the rumors going.
Once it does, it'd be great to see what people got. I know there's a few MSIVs that hang around here.

The day being thrown around is the 15th. Who knows? It'd be nice if it were announced, say, before I practically have my diploma in my hand.

This is what I've been told straight from my PMS they cut 350 AD slots this year the branching board took place on time and was not delayed by the government shutdown. However then 200 more AD slots were cut and we were reaccessed thus resulting in the delay. Please take all this with a grain of salt as I'm just putting out what was explained to us. I have heard it will come out on time and several friends from other schools have said no earlier than the 15th. Who knows at this point whats going on.

It is like waiting for Christmas Day to come as a kid. At this point it almost matters less and less what I get because I just want to finally know.

Hopefully Big Army smiles on some of us and grants our wishes.

The push back could create hazards for National Guard Branching, some have their boards a day or two after the active duty allocations. It could be interesting for those trying to assess active, but then get National Guard and are late for their boards, I'm not sure what would happen then.

Yes, it's exactly like Christmas day with the exception that if Bayonet is correct the elves are spending the extra four days pooping coal into 550 stockings.

Unfortunately, accessions is not like Lake Woebegon where all the children are above average (and all the women are strong and all the men are good looking). So, I hope at least that all of you cadets who have been so helpful on SAF get what you want.

My third or fourth-hand source tells me news will be out on the 15th or later.

I heard that the delay was due to the reassessing of the AD slots too... Hadn't heard numbers though. Shoot. Good luck to you guys.

Sort of how they had the ascensions brief at LDAC after you had already done everything that could get you points...

The last data I saw was from the Accessions Briefing for FY 2012 Commissionees, which showed data for FY 2011 Commissions as follows:

ROTC Cohort FY11 5348
"commission Review" 4
Actually Commissioned FY11 5344

Divided as Follows:
Ed Delay 108
AD Nurse 233
Reserves Nurse 20
Guaranteed Reserves (GRFD) 839
AD eligible who Chose Reserves 540
Ad eligible "forced" (via OML standing) into Reserves 669
Original AD Allocation FY11 2817
Additional AD Allocation FY11 118, for a total of 2,935 AD commissions for FY11

I have two questions that someone might be able to answer:

1) Is there any published data (another accessions briefing) similar to the above that shows actual commission numbers for FY 12? FY 13?

2) A post above notes that AD allocations were reduced for FY 2014 by about 550. Does anyone know from what number those 550 were reduced?... eg. from the 2817 originally planned for FY 11? If so, that would leave 2,267 AD slots for FY 2014. But I suspect FY 2012 and FY 2013 AD commissions were not as numerous as FY 2011 to start with, but have never read anything to validate that gut feeling.

My PMS just emailed us this, no **** copy and pasted straight from the email:
ALCON,
Results for the FY14 Accessions Board are delayed indefinitely. They will be released after results are briefed to Dept of Army. Once I know, you will know. I know this impacts our graduating seniors in December, not knowing branch for uniforms.

Well that sucks.

Seems like they are really having trouble figuring this out or are making massive changes. Nothing else to do but continue waiting.

Has anyone else heard this?

I can't say I'm suprised by this, I had a feeling from the beginning that this could happen.

Considering all the changes and the shutdown it is a bit like a perfect storm.

Complete change in how they handle accessions.
Not releasing the OML until branching.
The last minute reduction in AD slots
The addition of the Guaranteed AD with ADSO for certain majors.
The Gov. Shutdown.

Add all these together and it has to be a real nightmare trying to sort everything out.

This is really going to be rough for those that were set to commission in December. From the sounds of it they don't anticipate things being resolved before then. My question would be, will they go ahead and commission these cadets without knowing what branch they have, that's got to be uncharted territory. I can see a lot of very late BOLC dates for this commissioning class.

The addition of the guaranteed AD for certain majors with ADSO is something that I can see really throwing a wrench into the accessions process. CC would have to go through all those cadets that qualify and then determine how many AD slots are left over for the standard accessions. With limited personell that has to be taking more time then they expected.

This is truely a mess for this years MS4's, being the first ones to go through this new process. I just wonder how long it will take CC to get a handle on all this before next year rolls around. Who knows, there could be even more changes by then, the new leadership at CC seems to be on a real mission to shake things up, it may be that they have done to much to soon, I guess only time will tell.

I wonder if we'll see more cadets deciding to just go Reserve or NG so they can move on.

Hang in there, it's got to end sometime.

This is from Cadre @ BYU it was posted to FB this is the link if you want to see it for yourself. https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/474489389309963/

Here is the truth about branching and the results.

The G-1 of the Army, has been directed to have Cadet Command and West Point brief the Chief of Staff of the Army before the branching results are released; I don't know why - and we don't know when that briefing will take place.

Bottom line: We are in a holding pattern and I cannot predict when CC will be given permission to release the branching and AD versus RC duty results.

Additionally, there may be an impact in delaying some BOLC dates, etc for December commissionees. In everything you do you must have secondary and tertiary plans. I'm sorry about this guys.

This is really going to be rough for those that were set to commission in December.

It is rough, mostly because of all the uncertainty. If Cadet Command communicated to us what was actually happening we could plan accordingly. Instead it's like playing wack-a-mole with conflicting rumors of who's PMS said what. If there's no clarification given by Friday I'm just going to start setting up to relocate for the winter. I can't just crash on mom's couch like most Cadets who don't have families.

E: Well I guess the above is what I was asking for.
