I know everyone is posting their stats and wondering if they have a chance and since I have no one that has gone through this before I'm wondering how my stats compare.
I have:
-1920 SAT (660 math, 650 reading, 610 writing)
-3.5 gpa but that will go up some in midyear grades.
-I'm a Certified Nursing aide and lifeguard.
- I am in the Commonwealth Governor's School, a half day public school magnet program for higher level classes
-I have/am taking 9 AP classes and one AP test without the class (have taken 5 AP tests and got AP Scholar with Honor Award.)
-also have taken two Dual Enrollment college classes
-four year varsity swimmer
-vice president of my Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) chapter
-I'm well within Navy height and weight restrictions with no disqualifying conditions.

I'm really freaking out about this scholarship because I really want to do this and go to my first choice school (Catholic University of America which is a cross town affiliate of George Washington). Even if I don't get the scholarship though i still want to do ROTC and Nursing.

You certainly look pretty good to me, but the NROTC Nursing boards are entirely separate from the regular NROTC boards. There are only two nursing boards and I don't think anyone has much insight into what it takes to get a nursing scholarship. Only Navy nurses know for sure it seems. Just be patient and update your stats if they change.

But then again, maybe someone who is more familiar will chime in...

Also wondering if anyone has heard anything about when we should hear about the first nursing board. I know everything got backlogged and whatnot with the government shutdown.

Your stats look great. My daughter found out she received her scholarship early january of her senior year of high school. That may have changed, she is now a junior at CUA and loves the college and her unit. Best of luck to you

I visited the nursing program at CUA a few months ago and it looked so cool! Even if I don't get a scholarship I really want to go there and participate in GW's NROTC. the problem is paying for it....

For nursing students, I think the bigger issue now is if will they grant Advanced Standing for the non-scholarship Nursing students. I don't believe they did last year.

That's my understanding as well. Doesn't mean that will or won't be the case in 2 years, but it's something to pay attention to and have a conversation with cadre about, before committing 2 years of your life as a college programmer to no avail. Having the contract in hand at the start would make me feel much more comfortable. The problem of course (my understanding anyway) is that they already had too many nurses in the pipeline. It's a pipeline issue, which is why I say it may clear in 2 years, but I really have no insight.
