My daughter has everything in but the medical. I just called and she had 2 accounts with DODmets. (Glad I called...) got it straightened out and they have now submitted to DODMERBS. It would be so, so nice to have the appointment before Christmas.

Can anyone tell me how long it takes for DODMERBS to review? She literally has no health issues. (Thank goodness)

Time

It took @ a week for the DODMETS to DODMERB action to happen. A week after that, DD showed up as medically qualified on the USMA site.

I have completed all components of my app but the CFA - should I be prompted about the DODMERB process? Or do I simply make my own account on the website?

skelly - The admissions folks enter you into the DODmets system. But they don't really make it clear. We got something in the mail that if I weren't expecting it, might think it was junk mail. I'd email the admissions officer.

When you complete over half of your USNA application, they send a signnal to DODMERB to contact you about setting up the medical appointment. If you application has been over 50% complete for a few weeks, you should have gotten a letter from DODMERB by now. If you have not been contacted by DODMERB, I would contact USNA Candidate Guidance to verify that DODMERB has been informed of your status.

In order to be offered an appointment, you need a nomination and you must be recommended by the admissions board for an appointment. I don't know from reading this post if your daughter has a nomination. I will tell you a vast majority of the candidates who are offered appointments do not find out before Christmas. After a candidate get a nomination and is qualified academically (admissions board), Medically (DODMERB) and physically (CAF) then the name is forwarded to the Supe for final decision on an appointment. The Superintendent's Office then decides who they will offer appointments to. They will have several more triple qualified applicants with nominations then they will have appointments to offer. Unless you daughter has a nomination and a LOA, I would not expect to hear anything from USNA about an appointment (one way or another) until the spring. Most people find out in late March or early April.

Sorry I should have included all the informatiom:

She has a Presidential nomination, LOA and her BGO interview accepted. She did her eye exam and medical exam a few weeks ago and for some reason they had 2 accounts for her in DODmets and that messed up it going to DODMERB. They got this straightened out and now it is with DODMERB for review. We know there isn't anything to hold that back because she doesn't have anything to report.

She has also been recommended by the women's rowing coach and (assuming all goes as planned) she will be on the rowing team.

yep. if she got a LOA and ANY sort of nomination, she's guaranteed an appointment by federal law. CONGRATS!!

if DS is tripple q'ed and gets a principal nom, how long does it usually take to get offer of appointment? Local Moc sent academy notification yesterday of pricipal nom.
