So my son's team just won State!! It is the first state championship for our high school ever in football (last championship was in basketball in 1912!)

He had a great game too (left guard) which is always fun for the parents.

My SA question, so I don't go too off topic is, does he put that on his resume? As an offensive lineman, he's not going to get any individual awards but it still is a great accomplishment.

Absolutely! Don't know if there are any points but in any case it cannot hurt. Quite an achievement. Congratulations to your son and his team!

Simple answer: Yes. It is an accomplishment and something that should be recognized.

Here is my recommended input for his resume:

"Varsity Offensive Line starter for football; senior leader and impact player, instrumental in his team's first ever State Championship" (Action, Impact, Result)

I like that! You want to rewrite the rest of his resume? It's just bullet point facts. LOL

Congratulations on the victory. I'm trying to figure out a way to bask in Auburn's win against Alabama yesterday.

Bullet's suggestion is a good one so by all means this should go on his resume. Football is about teamwork, discipline, conditioning and collisions. One thing, though. If you want to be PC hereabouts, you may want to re-phrase your question: "Should he put that on his resume?"

Re-write it for him? No (but I think you knew that would be my response). Help him re-write it with some pointers on style and substance? Sure.

Have him PM me if he really wants the help.

Me too except I learned don't go to the kitchen and leave the game until there is 00 on the clock. Something about the Fat Lady finishing her song.

Congrats to the State Champs!

Gee...

Can you tell Bullet has written more than a few OPRs/EPRs?
(His "bullet" matched mine almost verbatim...scary!)

Yeah, but I am sure he and you would have been just as happy never to have had to write even 1!
