Hey!! I’m new to this forum and I, of course, have some questions! Ok, so I have received a nomination and an LOE for USMA. I have heard of a 3 Q’d letter that some people have gotten, and I am not sure what is it. Should I be expecting one or should I contact my Regional Counselor about it?
Thanks!! :shake:

LOE Letter...

I wouldn't worry so much about the letter. What is more important, on your portal it should state your 3Q'd status. I would start to rely more on your portal for communication from WP. I know they are trying to communicate more through your portal.

Push Hard, Press Forward

3Q is a status, but they'll usually send or post a letter to your portal if you're there. Have you finished your application and medical? I didn't see any mention of that in your OP. No chance at 3Q status without those and you are running out of time.

I have been cleared for medical and my application has been submitted for 2 months. Thanks for the info!

If you received DODMERB - you have one of the Qs. If you passed your CFA (look at previous year averages and if you scored at or above on all parts you likely passed), you have a second Q. Academics give you a third Q and only Admissions will know for certain if they consider you qualified. With an LOE, they likely feel you do and also feel you will be competitive in other aspects.

Remember - Being 3Q has nothing to do with Weighted Candidate Score; all it means is that you physically, academically, and medically are qualified to attend USMA. Lots of 3Q candidates do not receive an offer of appointment so the actual letter is just a formality and means nothing in the end.

Focus on the GREEN CHECKS and you'll be fine.

I don't think they necessarily send out or post a 3Q status. My DS passed DODMERB, Scored very high on the CFA and is well over the average for test scores not to mention top 1% in his class. By definition of 3Q'd I believe he is.

He has been that way since completing his app in October and has not seen anything regarding him being 3Q'd. He also has a nomination from his congressman.
