Using CFA from other SA?

Is it possible or okay for a student to submit their USNA CFA results, or any other SAs CFA, to the UMMA in place of taking the UMMA CFA?

Thanks.

It looks like the same one used by USMA, USNA & USAFA. Does your USMMA portal (application) allow you to request your scores be sent from another SA? Contact your admissions counselor if not -- they should be able to request the scores.

You can take the CFA once and submit those scores to all SAs you are applying to. Remember each SA may have different minimum / average / maximum score requirements.

It is true that the SA have different requirements. I passed my CFA at NASS for the USNA, had my scores submitted to USMMA directly from the USNA, and was informed that my BB throw did not meet the USMMA minimum....have a conditional acceptance. Just have to complete and pass the BB throw.

Thank you both. I have a call into the USMMA admissions office I'm waiting to hear back on to see if they can pull his scores from his USNA CFA. He also did his at NASS.

Thanks.

BB Throw

Smith,
My son scored a BB throw of 68 ft. I was wondering if you could give me an indication of how close he is to passing/falling based on your experience/score? He did well in all the others.

It's odd because he can throw a baseball about 90 MPH (USMMA recruiting him for baseball) yet the BB throw is a hole different beast.

Thanks.

Muffin Man,
The average (per the instructions) is 67 ft so your DS should be fine (max is 102 ft).

I believe MuffinMan is correct. The USMMA will let your son know if he needs to retake any portion of the CFA. Your son should call the USMMA if he has any concerns.

thats ironic

My son didn't do well in the basketball through either( mid 70's if I remember correctly) but he'll be pitching for KP next spring. I would wager your son and mine are going to be pretty good friends. I Suppose its because in the basketball throw all of the legs are taken out of it.

CFA from USNA

We called the naval academy and they sent the results to USMMA for us. When we visited USMMA, we were instructed to do it in this manner.

My son is also being recruited for baseball at KP. He is an outfielder.... He is on "Hold" right now but has everything in except for 7th semester grades.

Congratulations to all the baseball recruits. Looks like the coach is gettin' done! They should all do a great job supporting each other.

Spoke with USMMA Adm and we will have his CFA results sent from USNA ASAP and that will be that............ then we wait and see.

Repeated from elsewhere...

...CFA does not typically require a good grade in all 6 categories. They are looking for overall score. IE if you can do 100 pull ups, but are below average in BB throw, you might be ok.
