Parents with previous military experience...

On the AROTC scholarship application, it asks about parent's previous military service (and pay grade). Does it help your chances if one or both of your parents were previously in the military?

It certainly can't hurt but I don't think any great amount of weight is given to it. I would say, the same applies to your parents education level. YOU are what counts and what YOU bring to the table.

It maybe used for internal purposes.
~ Percentage of cadets that are military related. I believe the SAs when they publish the incoming class, they state the % of military children, and the % of children that would be deemed legacy in the traditional collegiate world, folks attended that SA.
