Has anyone from NC heard back from Senator Hagan about her nomination or from Senator Burr about his interviews?

I've heard nothing from the two of them, but I have received word from my local congressman on his nomination decision. From what I've researched and heard, Burr doesn't contact or hold his interviews till January as he does a "pre-screening" where he will only extend interviews to a select group who will most likely receive a nomination from him.

Same here. Have had an interview with Hagan, no response yet though. And have not heard anything back from Burr. I have a principal from my representative though, so I'm not flipping out if Burr never calls.

If Burr holds to yrs passed his office will contact pe-selected candidates, and they will interview in the beginning of January on a Sat. Those nominated will receive notification by Tues.
~~~ It is that fast of a turn around.
If I recall correctly it is usually the 1st or 2nd Sat of Jan. The notice of the interview is very short, maybe a week or 10 days. It is a one day event.
If I recall correctly they will have separate committees for each SA. I seem to remember that they interviewed 18 for the 10 AFA slates the yr our DS went.
~ Caveat, our DS only applied for the AFA, I do not know how they work it for those that have 3 on their list.
~~~ I.E. They may interview with only their number 1 choice and afterwards the committee members may get together to decide if they should offer a nom to their 2nd choice; committee they did not interview with, or they do multiple interviews.

The only reason I know that they have separate committees is due to the fact that candidates were being sent to different rooms and while you wait to be called people talk, it didn't take too long to realize this was their system. Plus, for DS's committee the military members were all AF, the rest were leaders within the community. There were no Army or Navy members.

He may have changed the process, but that was how it was when he did it.

As I said the nom letter came by Tuesday, so it is a quick turn around. He also did not do principal for DS's slate.

I received a nomination from Hagan dated 20 DEC - however, this is to West Point, not USNA. I have not received a phone call or letter from her, but the nomination can be viewed in my application portal (not sure if USNA uses a similar program).

If anyone is in the 6th district, you can also view Rep. Coble's nomination in the portal, which is also dated 20 DEC.

Just looked on my USMA portal, it shows a nomination from Senator Hagan, with NC62 beside it. I haven't received anything in the mail yet, but it is dated Dec 21, and my other nomination showed up on the portal a week before the letter got here. Anyone else heard anything from Hagan?

Hagan sent out a letter a few days ago... Anyone heard from Burr?

Haven't heard anything from Burr either. I think Hagan's staff is calling the nominees today to congratulate them.

Still haven't heard from Burr

Has Burr's staff sent an email to anyone for an interview yet? Seems like it should be getting around that time...

Finally heard from Burr on Friday 1/10 via email requesting an interview in Winston-Salem on Saturday 1/25 - however, he asked for an email back asking if we would be able to attend and he would disclose more details (probably time and address). Has anybody received a second email from him saying where the interview is at?

Has there been any response from Burr? Still haven't heard anything... assuming that means bad news...

@USNA18 I haven't gotten an email since Friday. This is what the email read:

"Senator Burr’s Nomination Board has selected you for an interview for the Military Academy Nomination. The interview will be on 1/25/14 in Winston-Salem. Please let me know immediately if you are planning to attend. I will confirm a time and the location after that. "

Yes, I'm only applying to USMA.

I don't know, but I would expect the interview would be at his offices in Winston-Salem. His web pages lists it as:
Winston-Salem
2000 West First Street
Suite 508
Winston-Salem, NC 27104
Phone: (800) 685-8916
Phone: (336) 631-5125
Fax: (336) 725-4493

This is just confusing,

I am applying to the USMMA only.
I received principal nom from NC12 and a nom from Hagan, but I would still like to hear something from Burr. I have one friend applying to USNA and the other is applying to USMA. They haven't heard anything either.

Does this mean bad news for the three of us?

Honestly, I would think if you have not heard at all from Burr, than that boat sailed two weeks ago. Other posters were informed on 1/10 that the interview would be on the 25th, IOWs 4 days from tomorrow. I know when DS got his interview notification a few years back he was given 2 weeks notice. Burr did it much earlier back than, but still considered late (1st week of Jan for interviews). This yr. Burr is pushing it back to the last minute. His deadline will be required to be submitted to the SAS within 6 days of the interview.

If Burr stays true to form he usually interviews about 15-20 candidates per slate. It is not a given that you will get the non, but the odds are not against you compared to some other MOCs that interview.

I am assuming you are concerned more about your friends because if it was about you alone, why would Burr interview you? You have a principal nom to the only SA you are applying for, thus an automatic appointment. Hagan's IMPO was a waste of a slot on her slate because you have a principal, unless when offered a nom you didn't have the principal yet. Burr's office may feel it is a waste of time to interview since you are a definite IN if your are 3 Q, and if you are not, you won't get in with his nom either.

It's not clear from your post if you interviewed with Burr at all, or not. If not, I agree with Pima that the boat has probably already sailed. If you have, then as she stated, he still has some interviews coming up and I doubt he'll complete his slate until he's completed these interviews.

I don't know if he and Hagan coordinate with one another but it wouldn't surprise me if they did. Given the state they represent, they both have a bit of a focus on the military.

Kinnem,

Burr in the past and it appears this year too, does only 1 interview day, which will be the 25th.

I still stand my position if the OP had a principal before Jan. 10th, there would be no need for his committee to interview him.

The OP with a principal in hand will be charged to NC12, why would he be invited for a Burr interview? Why would Burr waste a slot on him and not interview another candidate? It is the charging system Burr is looking at too.

More to the point if you have a principal to the only SA you are applying to why would you even want to take the time out of your Saturday? Seriously, for you there is no reason to interview, except to say I got all 3 noms For Burr, there is no reason to interview at all unless he wants to waste his committee member's time, since you will be charged as principal to NC12 , if not already.
