When you apply to NASS, do you have to send in transcripts and write an essay and get reccomendations? Or do you just fill out that application stating your GPA, SAT score and such. Also i take the SAT on January 24 for the first time. Chances are I wont be able to apply on Feb 1st because i wont have any SAT or PSAT scores?

I just gave them gpa, extracurriculars, and my bad PSAT scores and I got in. You don't need anything special like transcripts or recomendations.

bad psats? What is bad, if you dont mind me asking? I scored average on mine, and I think that will set me back...

It was like a 1640/2400 I got a 29 on the actual ACT. I kinda screwed around on the PSAT.

I dont think the score really matters all that much. They dont confirm it so you could lie for all they no (Not suggesting you lie, just saying that if they dont have an official copy, then it must not hold that much weight).

Just emphasize your leadership stuff.

ok sounds good. I just do not want my average psat scores to affect my chances of acceptance to NASS. That would suck. :frown:

did you right an essay to get in? so pretty much the application is easy for nass if all you do is tell them your gpa and sat and leadership?

No you did not have to write and essay... that's pretty much what the application is... it'll be all online and it's good because it actually counts as your prelim application for the real USNA application. Which means you can get started on everything earlier (such as DoDMERB- which can be a pain).
